Hello, My Name Is Cox (German : Gestatten, mein Name ist Cox) is a 1955 West German crime comedy film directed by Georg Jacoby and starring Johannes Heesters, Claude Borelli and Kurt Meisel. [1] It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich and on location in Brussels and Antwerp. It is an adaptation of the novel Gestatten, mein Name ist Cox by Rolf Becker  [ de ] and Alexandra Becker  [ de ].

Johan Marius Nicolaas Heesters, known professionally as JohannesHeesters, was a Dutch actor of stage, television and film, as well as a vocalist of numerous recordings and performer on the concert stage with a career dating back to the 1920s. He worked as an actor until his death and was one of the oldest performing entertainers in history, performing shortly before his death at the age of 108. Heesters was almost exclusively active in the German-speaking world from the mid-1930s and became a film star in Nazi Germany, which later led to controversy in his native country. He was able to maintain his popularity in Germany in the decades until his death.

Mady Rahl was a German stage and film actress. Born Edith Gertrud Meta Raschke in Neukölln, now part of Berlin, Rahl trained as an actress and dancer. In 1935 she made her stage debut in Leipzig under the direction of Douglas Sirk and started her film career in 1936 with the movie The Mysterious Mister X. With her role in the circus drama Truxa (1937), Rahl became known to a wider audience. After the war, she sang with her friend Elfreide Datzig for the USO. She ultimately appeared in approximately 90 movies, several of them for UFA. In later years, she appeared frequently on television, while also pursuing her career in the theatre. She was also the German voice of many cartoon characters and of Lucille Ball.

Gestatten, mein Name ist Cox is a series of crime novels and audio dramas written by the German couple Rolf Becker and Alexandra Becker, later also adapted to a television series and a movie. The series chronicle the adventures of Paul Cox, a professional gambler in London, with a tendency to get involved in intricate murder mysteries, where he often ends up as the main suspect and has to evade police and solve the crime to clear his name. He's aided in all his adventures by his friend Thomas Richardson, a private detective.

Claude Borelli (1934–1960) was a French film actress. During the 1950s she performed in a number of films including the 1955 German film Hello, My Name is Cox in which she co-starred with Johannes Heesters. She died in an accident at the age of twenty six after falling through the window of her apartment, on the third floor, while trying to catch her cat which had escaped.

Everything for the Company is a 1935 Austrian comedy film directed by Rudolf Meinert and starring Oskar Karlweis, Felix Bressart and Otto Wallburg. Many of those involved in the film's production had recently fled from Nazi Germany. It was shot at the Schönbrunn Studios in Vienna. The film's sets were designed by the art director Artur Berger. A separate Dutch version De Vier Mullers was also produced, directed by Meinert and starring Johannes Heesters.
