Jarno Karl Keimo Saarinen was a Finnish professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. In the early 1970s, he was considered one of the most promising and talented motorcycle racers of his era until he was killed during the 1973 Nations Grand Prix in Italy. Saarinen's death led to increased demands for better safety conditions for motorcycle racers competing in the world championships. He remains the only Finn to have won a motorcycle road racing world championship. Saarinen was inducted into the F.I.M. MotoGP Hall of Fame in 2009.

The 1970 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 22nd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix season. The season consisted of twelve Grand Prix races in six classes: 500cc, 350cc, 250cc, 125cc, 50cc and Sidecars 500cc. It began on 3 May, with West German Grand Prix and ended with Spanish Grand Prix on 27 September.

Wilco Zeelenberg is a Dutch former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and current race team manager. Born in Bleiswijk, he began racing motorcycles in motocross competitions before switching to road racing. Zeelenberg made his Grand Prix debut in the 80cc class in 1986. He won his first and only world championship race at the 1990 250cc German Grand Prix. His best season was in 1991, when he finished the season ranked fourth in the 250cc world championship riding a Honda.
Horst Kassner was a Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Germany. His best year was in 1956 when he finished the season in fourth place in the 250cc world championship.
Helmut Hallmeier was a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from the Germany. His best years were in 1954 when he finished the season in ninth place in the 250cc world championship and 1957 when he finished in ninth place in the 350cc world championship.
Alessandro "Sandro" Cortese is a German motorcycle racer, currently competing in the World Superbike Championship aboard a Yamaha R1. Cortese won his first world title in the Moto3 class, in 2012., and his second in the Supersport World Championship, in 2018. He lives in Berkheim, Germany.

Brad Binder is a South African Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He was also known for winning the 2016 Moto3 World Championship. In November 2019 he was confirmed as a factory KTM rider in MotoGP class for the 2020 season, replacing Johann Zarco who had abandoned his factory ride earlier in the year.
