Launched on 30 September 2017 by Jagran New Media, the digital division of Jagran Prakashan Limited, it publishes content in Hindi, English, and Tamil. [1] The website covers lifestyle topics such as fashion, beauty, travel, food, personal finance, and social issues related to women, including entrepreneurship and empowerment. HerZindagi.com began as a lifestyle and entertainment website, offering articles, videos, and features on wellness, astrology, and contemporary trends. [11] Operated under Jagran New Media, it expanded to include a Tamil-language version following its initial Hindi and English launches. In 2020, HerZindagi partnered with Narikaa, an initiative by the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), to launch Naari Swaasth, a microsite focused on women’s health education. [15]
In 2022, the platform introduced the 75 Buland Hausle campaign to mark India's 75th year of independence, highlighting 75 women for their contributions since 1947. [16] The same year, it launched Shubh Vivah, a microsite providing wedding-related advice with input from industry professionals such as photographer Poonam Kotecha, beauty expert Shahnaz Husain, and nutritionist Swati Bathwal. In May 2023, HerZindagi initiated The Good Mother Project ahead of Mother's Day, featuring discussions on societal expectations of motherhood. [18] The project included interviews with public figures such as actress Alia Bhatt and author Sudha Murthy. [19] In July 2023, HerZindagi introduced HZ Buddy, a community-oriented feature. The platform also produces editorial content on diverse topics, including social issues and lifestyle trends. [20]
HerZindagi collaborated with OnlyMyHealth in 2023 to organize the Period Party campaign ahead of Menstrual Hygiene Day, addressing menstrual hygiene and stigma. [21] [22]
