Herbrand Larsen (born February 3, 1973) is a Norwegian musician, record producer, mixer and engineer. He is best known for being a member of extreme metal band Enslaved from 2004 to 2016, and hard rock band Audrey Horne from 2002 to 2007. Larsen works primarily with acts in the metal and rock genres, including Immortal, Gorgoroth, Taake, Demonaz, Abbath and Gaahl, but has also collaborated with artists in the folk, ambient and pop genres, such as Wardruna, Lindy-Fay Hella, Michelle Ullestad and Hjerteslag. Larsen has won five Norwegian Spellemann Awards: four with Enslaved and one with Audrey Horne. [2] [3] He owns and runs Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen together with former-Enslaved bandmate Arve Isdal. [4] [5] In addition to producing music, Larsen also works as a teacher in music production at Noroff. [6] [7]
Larsen started his musical career in the 1990s as a recording engineer and worked as an apprentice under renowned black metal producer Pytten at Grieghallen Studio. [8] [9] [10] He joined the hard rock band Audrey Horne with members of Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Sylvia Wane and Deride as a keyboardist in 2002. [11] Larsen was an engineer on Enslaved's studio albums Monumension and Below the Lights , released in 2001 and 2003 respectively, before joining the band as a keyboardist and clean vocalist in 2004. In 2005, Audrey Horne released their debut album, No Hay Banda , and won the Spelleman Award in the Metal category. [15] [16] Larsen left Audrey Horne in 2007 to focus on Enslaved, but have since contributed keyboard parts and production to the band's later albums and appeared as a live guest. [17] [18] [19] In 2016, Larsen left Enslaved amicably after twelve years and six studio albums with the band. [20] [21] He has since focused on producing other acts in his studio Conclave & Earshot, and teaching music production at Noroff. [20] [7] [5] [6]
Larsen has been in a relationship with journalist Øyvor Bakke since 2004. [22] [23] He is a fan of David Lynch and particularly the TV series Twin Peaks , which he considers to be "the toughest series in history." [24] [25]

Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson in Haugesund in 1991. They are currently based in Bergen. The band's lineup has changed many times over the years, with Bjørnson and Kjellson being the sole constant members. The current lineup also includes lead guitarist Arve Isdal, keyboardist/singer Håkon Vinje, and drummer Iver Sandøy.
Audrey Horne is a hard rock band from Bergen, Norway. Formed in 2002, the band took its name from Sherilyn Fenn's character in the TV series Twin Peaks. The band's musical style is a mixture of heavy and melodic classic rock, inspired by Iron Maiden, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Audrey Horne has released seven studio albums, one live album and one EP.
Vikingligr Veldi is the debut studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released in 1994, through Deathlike Silence Productions, the record label run by Euronymous, who was murdered before the album's release. The album is dedicated to him.
Monumension is the sixth studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released on 19 November 2001, through Osmose Productions. It is Enslaved's first album to feature lyrics sung entirely in English, although some versions of the album include the Old Norse track "Sigmundskvadet" as a bonus.
Below the Lights is the seventh studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released on 5 May 2003. Beyond it being their last full-length for production company Osmose, a few lineup changes would take place. This would be the last album Enslaved recorded with Dirge Rep on drums, and the first album featuring Arve Isdal as lead guitarist. They would also enlist a full-time keyboardist in Herbrand Larsen, bringing the band personnel from four to five.

It was released on 20 October 2004 in Norway and 8 November 2004 in Europe by Tabu Recordings and on 7 February 2005 in the US by Candlelight Records. Several tracks segue continuously into one another and the majority of compositions are composed of multiple interlocking movements.

Eirik Hundvin, also known as Pytten, is a Norwegian producer, musician and recording engineer. He is widely known for producing and collaborating with influential acts in the Norwegian black metal scene, including Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, Satyricon, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Borknagar and Taake. Hundvin worked out of Grieghallen Lydstudio at the Grieg Hall in Bergen from 1989 to 2013, when it was closed. He has been a member of Tornerose and Blind Date as a bassist. Hundvin is the father of handball player and media personality Mia Hundvin.
Kjetil Tvedte Grutle, better known as Grutle Kjellson, is a Norwegian musician, best known as the bassist and vocalist of the Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. Kjellson and guitarist Ivar Bjørnson are the founding and only constant members of the band, as well as the main songwriters. He has released sixteen studio albums with Enslaved and won five Norwegian Spellemann Awards with the band.
Tom Cato Visnes, better known as King ov Hell or simply King, is a Norwegian musician. He is best known as the former bassist of black metal band Gorgoroth, and as a member of Audrey Horne, Sahg, I, Ov Hell, God Seed, Abbath, Jotunspor and Temple of the Black Moon.
Ivar Skontorp Peersen, best known by his stage name Ivar Bjørnson, is a Norwegian musician and composer. He is a founding member and the main songwriter of the extreme metal band Enslaved, and has previously been a member of the metal band Borknagar and collaborated with Einar Selvik on several albums. Bjørnson has released sixteen studio albums with Enslaved and won five Norwegian Spellemann Awards with the band.
Grace Submerged, the second and final album by Norwegian doom/gothic metal band Octavia Sperati, was released in May 2007 via Candlelight Records.
No Hay Banda is the debut album by Norwegian rock band Audrey Horne, released in 2005. The album was produced by the band and Joe Barresi. No Hay Banda received good reviews from critics and won the band a Norwegian Spellemann Award in the Metal category in 2005. The album title translates to "There is no band" in Spanish, and was inspired by a line from the David Lynch film Mulholland Drive.
Arve Isdal, also known as Ice Dale, is a Norwegian musician and producer, best known as lead guitarist for the extreme metal band Enslaved and the hard rock band Audrey Horne. He owns and runs Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen together with former-Enslaved band member Herbrand Larsen. In addition to working as a musician and producer, Isdal also teaches music production at Noroff.
Axioma Ethica Odini is the eleventh studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released on September 27, 2010, via Indie Recordings in Europe and on September 28, 2010, via Nuclear Blast in North America. The cover artwork was created by Norwegian painter Truls Espedal who has created all of the band's artwork since 2001's Monumension. The album received very positive reviews from music critics, and sold around 1,400 copies in the United States its first week of release, landing at position no. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
In Times is the thirteenth studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released on 6 March 2015 in Europe, 9 March 2015 in the UK and 10 March 2015 in the US by Nuclear Blast. As the title suggests, the album's central theme is that of time, considered philosophically, historically, and mythologically. The album sold about 2,950 copies in its first week of release in the United States, making In Times their highest sales debut to date. The album charted in some territories in its first week of release, including Norway and Finland. It is also the band's last album with keyboardist/vocalist Herbrand Larsen, who departed the following year.
Thomas Odd Tofthagen is a Norwegian guitarist, best known for his work in rock bands Audrey Horne and Sahg. He is one of the main songwriters in Audrey Horne and has released seven studio albums with the band, in addition to winning a Norwegian Spellemann Award. Apart from his work in music, Tofthagen works full-time as an architect.
E is the fourteenth studio album by Norwegian extreme metal band Enslaved. It was released on October 13, 2017 by Nuclear Blast.
Ørjan Stedjeberg, better known by his stage name Hoest, is a Norwegian musician. He is best known as the founder and songwriter of the black metal band Taake. Hoest is the band's sole member and records most instruments for studio releases. He has released eight studio albums and several EPs with the band. As a frontman, Hoest is known for his energetic live performances. He is also a member of the band Deathcult, the current live vocalist for Gorgoroth, and has previously been a member of Ragnarok and Ravengod.
Kong Vinter is the seventh full-length album by Norwegian black metal band Taake. It was released on 24 November 2017.
