"Hey Boy (Get Your Ass Up)" is a song performed by Polish band Blog 27 from their 2005 debut album LOL . The track is a cover version of a 2004 Teddybears' song. [5] It was released as Blog 27's second single in November 2005 [6] and became very popular in Poland, particularly with teenage audiences. The song was released internationally in spring 2006 [7] and charted within the top 40 in other European countries. It could not chart in Blog 27's home country where there was no official singles sales chart at that time, but it did enter a number of radio and magazine charts based on the fans' votes. [8] [9] [10] At the end of 2006, "Hey Boy (Get Your Ass Up)" was singled out by Billboard senior editor Charles Eddy as one of the best songs of 2006 even though the single was not released on the US market. Thomas Rusiak is a Swedish rapper, hip hop producer, musician and singer. Rusiak's father was the rather prominent Polish jazz saxophonist, Alfred Banasiak. Rusiak was initially a member of the Stockholm-based hiphop group Sherlock and later closely associated with the popular Swedish rapper Petter, with whom Rusiak worked as a producer and occasional supporting rapper. Rusiak launched his solo career in 2000 with several prominent Swedish artists contributing to his debut album Magic Villa, including Titiyo, Teddybears STHLM and award winning producer Christian Falk.
Blog 27 was a Polish musical group founded in 2005 by two teenage vocalists Tola Szlagowska and Ala Boratyn performing pop music with elements of pop punk and pop rock. The duo's debut album, LOL (2005), was certified double platinum in Poland and also achieved moderate success in Western Europe and Japan. It included three internationally charting singles: "Uh La La La", "Hey Boy " and "Wid Out Ya". After Ala's departure in 2006, the act released one more album, Before I'll Die... (2008), but shortly after that Tola relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a degree in music, and the band has since been inactive. Blog 27 has sold over 250,000 records worldwide and is regarded as the forerunner of the emo fashion in Poland.

It was released by DWA Records and Sony Music as the fourth single from the singer's debut album, Fan Club (1997), and is written by Roberto Zanetti and Alexia herself. The song was a summer hit of 1997 in Europe and became Alexia's international breakout success. She rose to fame in 2005 as one of the lead singers of Polish girl duo Blog 27. With Blog 27, Boratyn enjoyed success in her native Poland, Central Europe, and Japan. Having departed from the band in 2006, she embarked on a short-lived solo career before becoming member of the bands Wicked Giant, New People and Ala Zastary.
