Hella is an American math rock band from Sacramento, California. The primary members of the band are Spencer Seim on electric guitar and Zach Hill on drums. The band expanded their live band by adding Dan Elkan on vocals, rhythm guitar, sampler and synthesizer and Jonathan Hischke on synth bass guitar for their 2005 tour. In 2006 they reformed as a five-piece line-up including Seim, Hill, Carson McWhirter, Aaron Ross & Josh Hill. In 2009, the band was reduced back to core members Hill and Seim.
The Like Young were an American indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois, composed of Amanda and Joe Ziemba. The couple had been playing music together in various bands since 1997. They formed the Like Young in the spring of 2002, and were married in the same year.

AIDS Wolf was a Canadian noise rock band, founded in Montreal in 2003, by the graphic arts team of Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau, otherwise known as Seripop. They were joined by Myles Broscoe, Chris Taylor, Nick Kuepfer, André Guérette, and Alex Moskos. The band was known for playing modified consumer electronics and analog synthesizers, for giving creative names to instruments, and for being “weird for the sake of being weird.” On their label's band page, they stated "We are a fucking cult and will cause you harm and ill will," then added "The 9 Principles of AIDS Wolf".

Chairlift was an American synth-pop band. Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning formed Chairlift in 2005 while living in Boulder, Colorado, and Patrick Wimberly joined them when they moved to Brooklyn in 2007. In 2008, Chairlift released their debut album Does You Inspire You. Pfenning left the band in 2010, and as a duo, Polachek and Wimberly released two more albums: 2012's Something and 2016's Moth before announcing the end of Chairlift in December 2016.

Austra is a Canadian electronic music band from Toronto, founded in 2009 by composer, singer-songwriter, and producer Katie Stelmanis. The Planet is the first mini-album by American synthpop duo Young Ejecta. The second overall studio album by the group and the first to be released under Young Ejecta, which had been changed from simply Ejecta due to a conflict with another DJ named Ejeca, the six-track record contains influences of minimalist electronic music, euro disco and 1970s pop music. On October 8, 2014, the band announced they had finished producing the album. Three singles spawned from the record: "Welcome to Love", "Your Planet" and "Into Your Heart". “Welcome to Love” was used in the closing credits scene of season 7 episode 10 of Orange Is The New Black.
Terrible Human Beings is the third studio album by American band The Orwells. It was released February 17, 2017, by Atlantic Records. It would be the band's final album released before their breakup in 2018, although it was followed with the self released The Orwells in 2019.
Exercises is the fifth extended play in the discography of Canadian musician Michael Silver, known by his stage name as CFCF. The extended play was inspired by brutalist architecture and several synthesizer-heavy modern classical and piano-only works that Silver listened to during the fall and winter of 2010–11, which were the "soundtrack" to how he felt "kind of uncertain” in those seasons. Its cover art by Ken Schwarz, Josh Clancy, and Travis Stearns shows one of the buildings the extended play was inspired by.
