He has worked extensively with Washington D.C.-based duo Deep Dish, co-writing, co-producing, performing and singing on many of their tracks, most notably on their albums Junk Science and George Is On. Jules Mark Shear is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He wrote the Cyndi Lauper hit single "All Through the Night", The Bangles' hit "If She Knew What She Wants", and the Ignatius Jones and Allison Moyet hit "Whispering Your Name" and charted a hit as a performer with "Steady" in 1985.

Twelve Deadly Cyns...and Then Some is a greatest hits album by American singer Cyndi Lauper. It was released on August 22, 1994, through Epic Records. The album contains the most successful singles from the singer's first four studio albums, in addition to three new songs: "(Hey Now) Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "I'm Gonna Be Strong" and "Come On Home". To promote the record the singer embarked on a worldwide tour as well as releasing music videos for two of the new songs. A video album was released in parallel and contained videos of fourteen songs included in the audio version and also an interview with Lauper.
All Over the Place is the debut studio album by American pop rock band the Bangles. Released in 1984 by Columbia Records, the sound is lively and shows more Bangles collaboration and fewer keyboard overdubs than were used later on their more commercially successful albums. Although the album was not a major commercial success – peaking at #80 on the Billboard 200 albums chart – and did not produce a hit, it sold respectably, mostly through steady airplay on college stations. Isaac Hayes recorded the song five years later, in 1969, and reached number 30 on the Hot 100 chart and number 13 in the R&B charts with his version. "Walk On By" has since charted numerous times in various countries, with wildly different arrangements.
Summer '87 was a various artists "current hits" collection album released in Australia in 1986 on the Polystar record label. The album spent two weeks at the top of the Australian album charts in 1987. It was available on vinyl, cassette and the new format Compact Disc. It was the very first of these type of compilations that was available on CD in Australia.
