Hollins is a historic village [1] in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, England. [2] Today, the village forms part of an urban area with the villages of Butt Lane and Talke. As well as the Kidsgrove suburbs of Clough Hall and Hardings Wood.
The village is located on the A34 road between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Congleton.
Hollins was founded during the movement of the primitive methodism denomination of Christianity. Alongside neighbouring Talke, the village grew with new residents working in the coal mining and potteries industries of Stoke-on-Trent.
As well as Kidsgrove and Newcastle-under-Lyme which form the Potteries. [3] As well as the outlying towns of Alsager, Biddulph and Congleton. [4]
The village is linked with Hollins Farm in Talke and Hugh Bourne, who was linked with the farm and the founding of the primitive Methodism movement. [5]
Hollins is located near the aforementioned villages of Butt Lane and Talke, which offer basic amenities. With Kidsgrove, Congleton and Newcastle-under-Lyme having more retail and educational hubs. The village is home to the "St Saviour's C Of E Academy". [6]
The village has regular bus services to Biddulph, Kidsgrove, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent. [7]
