The Hong Kong Premiership is the main domestic competition for rugby union clubs in Hong Kong organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union. Valley RFC and Hong Kong FC are the two most popular clubs from the Hong Kong Premiership.

Rugby union in Hong Kong is long established, partly as a result of its being a British colony. In contrast to the People's Republic of China, it has had a continuous existence dating back over a hundred years, and is most notable for the Hong Kong Sevens tournament, the best known of the rugby sevens tournaments. The top domestic club competition is the HKRFU Premiership.

Chris Wyles is a former American-English rugby union player. Until his retirement from international rugby in January 2016, Wyles had represented the United States in three World Cups. He was the USA Eagles Captain in the 2015 World Cup. In the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 season, he was Captain of the USA National Sevens team, a core team in the World Rugby Sevens series. In 2015, he was selected for the USA Olympic team to compete in the Sevens rugby event at the Rio Olympic Games.

Brett Wilkinson is a South African born rugby union coach and former player. He is currently Head coach for HKU Sandy Bay in the Hong Kong Premiership. He is also scrum coach for the Hong Kong national team and Global Rapid Rugby side the South China Tigers.

USRC Tigers (三軍會猛虎欖球會) is a rugby union club based in King's Park, Hong Kong. It arose from the merger between Kai Tak Tigers and DeA Flamingo Rugby Football Club in 1990 to become "DeA Tigers". In 2014, DeA Tigers associated with the United Services Recreation Club (USRC) to become "USRC Tigers".

Ed Rolston is a Hong Kong former international rugby union player. He is the youngest ever Hong Kong international, having represented Hong Kong at all age groups from under 14s through to the senior team when he was capped aged 17 years 4 months and 25 days. He was a member of the Hong Kong rugby academy and captained the Hong Kong Under 18s and Under 20s. His previous clubs are Loughborough Students RUFC where he represented the senior 1st team in 30 starts scoring 25 tries.

Penyrn RFC is a Cornish rugby union club based in the town of Penryn, and is the oldest club side in the county having been formed in 1872. The club currently has 2 senior men's teams as well as a ladies team, colts, and multiple mini/youth sides. Nicknamed "The Borough" the club's colours are black and red. The men's first team play in Western Counties West - a league at level 7 of the English rugby union system - having been promoted from Cornwall/Devon as champions at the end of the 2018–19 season.
