Hridith Sudev is a scientist, social activist, author, speaker and environmentalist who is known for founding an environmental organization, Project Greenworld International. His first book, a poetry anthology titled "Catharsis: An Anthology" was published in 2018.

Early life and background

Hridith Sudev was born on 27 December 1999 in the southern Indian state of Kerala to Dr.Shaji P Sreedhar and Hridhya S Menon. [3] [1] During his early childhood, Hridith suffered from ataxia, a condition he recovered from later [4] . He moved to Oman with his parents in 2004. [5]

He graduated from Indian School Salalah in 2018. [6]

Environmentalism and Research

Hridith Sudev and his younger brother Samved Nambiar, co-founded Project GreenWorld International under their middle-school Social Science Department in 2012. Beginning as Project GreenOman, the Eco-Club organized numerous activities and events that soon caught the eye of authorities. This led the Eco-Club to be expanded as a non-profit called Project GreenWorld International (PGWI). PGWI went on to win the World Environment Day Global School Award 2012 leading to Sudev being appointed as the Project Earth Student Ambassador of Oman to the UNCSD Rio+20 conference in 2012. [7]

On 5 June 2014, Sudev became the then youngest national recipient of International Energy Globe Award for Oman which was awarded to Sudev jointly with his organisation's Oman unit. [6] [8] [7] In 2018, Sudev and his team reconstituted PGWI as a subsidiary of a new umbrella organization called The World Foundation. [9]

In 2016, Hridith Sudev began working on a novel water-filtration technology inspired by the research of Dr.Stephanie Velegol and team of Pennsylvania State University as well as his grandmother's practice of using Moringa oleifera seeds to purify water. [4] [10] The water-filtration technology was based on adsorbing MOC proteins from moringa seeds on charcoal dust to filter water. [11]

Writing career

Hridith self-published his first full-length book with TinkerBird Publishing in 2018. The book, a poetry anthology titled "Catharsis: An Anthology" was a best-selling English-language poetry book in Oman. His second book, The Summer of Touch-Me-Nots is expected to release in 2020. [9]

Personal life and Activism

Sudev has described himself as a 'left-leaning pragmatist', a socialist and a feminist. [9] He has worked extensively on ending gender-based violence and racial discrimination, informed by his own personal experiences. Since 2020, Sudev has been involved with The Blue Bench (formerly RAAP), a comprehensive sexual assault prevention and support center in Denver Metro Area. [12]

In 2017, Sudev spoke in support of the HeForShe Campaign. He has also advocated for comprehensive LGBTQ rights on multiple occasions. [2] In 2021, Sudev expressed solidarity with the Indian Farmer's Protest [13] and in 2020, Sudev participated in Black Lives Matter rallies in Denver and Aurora, expressing solidarity with George Floyd, Elijah McClain, Trayvon Martin, and Breonna Taylor in an Instagram video shortly afterwards. [14] [12]

Sudev is an undergraduate student at the University of Denver. [2]

Internal Security Service transliterated:Jahaz al Amn al Dakhly, is the national security agency of the Sultanate of Oman. The agency focuses solely upon domestic security while foreign intelligence operations is specifically handled by the Palace Office, which controls external security and coordinates all intelligence and security policies.

MediaOne TV Indian television channel broadcasting in Malayalam

MediaOne TV is an Indian television channel broadcasting in Malayalam, operated by Madhyamam Broadcasting Limited. The channel was licensed in September 2011 and was officially launched on 10 February 2013. The main studio is located at Velliparamba, Kozhikode, Kerala.

Salalah International Airport

Prajesh Sen Indian filmmaker and writer (born 1979)

Prajesh Sen G is an Indian filmmaker and writer. In 2017, he made his directorial debut with Captain (2018) starring Jayasurya and Anu Sithara. The movie Captain was based on the life story of former India national football team captain, VP Sathyan. It is the first ever sports biopic made in Malayalam. Jayasurya won Kerala State Film Awards for best actor for his role as VP Sathyan.

Vinoy Thomas

Vinoy Thomas is an Indian writer who writes in Malayalam. Known for his novels, Karikkottakkari and Puttu as well as for his short stories such as Ramachi, Thomas is a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Story. Churuli, a Lijo Jose Pellissery movie, is based on one of his stories.

Karunakaran is an Indian poet, novelist, short story writer and essayist who writes in Malayalam. Known for an original style of writing, he has published a number of novels, short story anthologies, poetry anthologies, studies and essays. He was born in Pattambi, a town in Palakkad district of the south Indian state of Kerala. His oeuvre comprises novels such as Yuvaavaayirunna Onpathu Varsham and short story anthologies like Paayakkappal and he is a recipient of the 2019 O. V. Vijayan Sahitya Puraskaram. He lives in Kuwait.

Mohammad Qaratas

Mohammed bin Qaratas Al Mahri is a Omani poet, novelist, and writer, who was born in Salalah in the first quarter of the 1970s. He started writing at an early age and was a poet since the end of the 1990s. He writes in all different forms, including classical poetry, free verse, and prose poetry. Qaratas claims that poetry is a living being that comes at will and goes through evolution and change over time, If it stops evolving, that indicates its death in the heart of a poet.
