Hussein Dey is a suburb of the city of Algiers in northern Algeria, named after Hussein Dey, the last of the Ottoman provincial rulers of Algiers.

Hussein Dey is a suburb of the city of Algiers in northern Algeria, named after Hussein Dey, the last of the Ottoman provincial rulers of Algiers.
Hussein Mezzomorto or Hajji Husain Mezzomorto was an Algerian privateer, dey of Algiers, and finally Grand Admiral of the Ottoman Navy. His epithet mezzomorto is the Italian for "half-dead" and was acquired during a fight with the Spaniards, when he was gravely injured.
Hussein Dey was the last Dey of the Deylik of Algiers.

Bordj Tamentfoust is an Ottoman fort in the city of Tamentfoust, Algeria. The fort is among several Ottoman forts built during the Ottoman rule of Algeria, which were established to guard the city of Algiers. With the exception of Bordj Tamentfoust, most of the forts no longer exist or in a good condition. The fort was built on the highest point of Tamentfoust, at the eastern end of the Bay of Algiers.
