It is currently available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS, and the Web. It can connect to multiple IM services, such as AIM, Bonjour, Facebook Messenger, Google Talk (Hangouts), IRC, XMPP (Jabber), VZ, and Yahoo! Messenger networks; as well as social networking sites, such as Facebook, Foursquare, LinkedIn, and Twitter; and email services, such as POP3 and IMAP.

It was widely acknowledged for its difference from other mobile phones for introducing Skype as a native application and introducing Brew OS to a European audience.
The 3 Skypephone series was a range of 3G mobile phones made as a global project by the Three brand network. The project was initiated by Three's global handset team, some of whom later went on to found the mobile phone company INQ. The phones were sold in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Macau, but the service has now been discontinued. Three offered 4000 free Skype outbound voice minutes with the phones. Initially, the quota expired after 90 days unless the user purchased another topup or was on a pay monthly plan. This restriction was lifted by the network in 2009, where calls could still be made and received without the need to "top up" with credit. The service was advertised as "unlimited" in the UK; however, it was subject to fair use limitations, as in other countries.

The INQ1 is the first product of the Hutchinson Whampoa subsidiary, INQ. The INQ1 was released in December 2008 as a social-networking phone. Retailing at a cheaper price than competitors such as the iPhone, Blackberry Storm, G1 and Nokia 5800, it also contains slightly fewer features than other 3G 'smartphones'. It is thus marketed as an entry-level phone for users wanting to access websites and web-base applications from their mobile. The phone was created for the 3 phone network.

Along with a slimmer design, the enV3 also boasts a full keyboard, a 2.6-inch screen and a 3.0-megapixel camera. In addition to standard phone and text messaging capabilities, the enV3 can be used as a portable music player as well as Internet capabilities such as e-mail and web browsing. The phone is Bluetooth enabled.

The INQ Mini 3G features Twitter, Facebook, Skype and Windows Live Messenger applications embed deep into the phone's Operating System. The phone has a numeric keypad, a 2-megapixel camera and a 2.2" screen. The phone is the second handset from INQ and succeeds the "Best mobile handset award 2009" winner INQ1.

The Nokia Asha 302 is a QWERTY messenger feature phone powered by Nokia's Series 40 operating system. It was announced at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona along with other Asha phones - the Nokia Asha 202 and 203. The 302 is considered to be among the flagship of the Asha family. Its main features are the QWERTY keyboard, the pentaband 3G radio, SIP VoIP over 3G and Wi-Fi. Its design looks a lot like the older Nokia E6 with chrome slidings, giving it a somewhat premium look.
