Iain Somerled Macdonald-Smith MBE , (born 3 July 1945 in Oxford, Oxfordshire) is a British sailor and Olympic champion. He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City and won a gold medal in the Flying Dutchman class, together with Rodney Pattisson. [1]
He was educated at Marlborough College and Selwyn College, Cambridge, before becoming a solicitor. [1]
David Ross MacDonald is a Canadian sailor. Born in Vancouver, he began sailing at the age of 11. He won a silver medal with Mike Wolfs at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the men's Star event, and a bronze with Eric Jespersen at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the same event.

He did so alongside Graham Smith, Clay Evans, and Stephen Pickell. Gary was the Canadian record holder in the 50-metre freestyle as well. He also won two silver medals in relay events at the 1975 Pan American Games.

Rodney Stuart Pattisson, MBE is a British yachtsman. He is a double Olympic gold medalist in sailing won at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and 1972 Munich Olympics both in the Flying Dutchman class. He also won a silver medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics in the same class to become Great Britain’s most successful Olympic yachtsman until Ben Ainslie overtook him with 3 gold medals and a silver medal at four different Olympic Games at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Pattisson was a member of Itchenor Sailing Club.

Michael Baker-Harber was a sailor from Great Britain, who represented his country at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Kingston, Ontario, Canada as crew member in the Soling. With helmsman Iain MacDonald-Smith and fellow crew member Barry Dunning, they took the 13th place.
