Air Vice-Marshal Ian W. Duguid, CB , OBE (born 1 December 1966) is a retired senior Royal Air Force officer, whose final post was as Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group RAF, headquartered at RAF High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Duguid was a Harrier pilot and Typhoon Force Commander before assuming the role of the Air Officer Commanding of No. 11 Group, which he served as from 2018 to November 2021.
Duguid was educated at Scarborough Sixth Form College and King's College London (MSc Defence Studies). [1]
Duguid was commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1986. [2] While a squadron commander of one of the Harrier squadrons in the 1990s, Duguid was known by the nickname of "Squid". [3] After operational service protecting the Iraqi no-fly zones, he commanded No. 4 Squadron RAF in Afghanistan in 2006 to 2007, [4] for which he was mentioned in despatches. [5] He then became Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Capability at RAF Air Command in September 2008, Head of Defence Operational Capability at the Ministry of Defence in December 2012 and commander of the Typhoon Force in March 2015. [6] He was appointed Chief of Staff Operations, Headquarters Air Command and Air Officer Commanding No. 11 Group RAF in October 2018 which he served as until November 2021. [7] [2] He was appointed Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group RAF on 12 November 2021, [8] and retired in May 2023. [9]
Duguid was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2009 New Year Honours, [10] and Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2021 New Year Honours. [11]
Air Chief Marshal Sir Christopher Hugh Moran, was a fast jet pilot and later a senior commander in the Royal Air Force. He was Commander-in-Chief of Air Command at the time of his unexpected death.
Air Marshal David Walker, was a senior Royal Air Force officer. He was the Deputy Commander, Allied Joint Force Command at Brunssum in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2013, having previously served for over three years as Deputy Commander, Allied Air Component Command at Ramstein in Germany. Prior to that appointment he was Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group in the United Kingdom.

She is the most senior female officer ever to serve in the British Armed Forces.
Air Marshal Sir Stuart David Atha,, is a former senior officer of the Royal Air Force. He led No. 3 (Fighter) Squadron from 2000 to 2004, which included deployment to Iraq on Operation Telic, commanded RAF Coningsby (2006–08), No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group (2009–10) and No. 1 Group (2011–14), and served as the Air Component Commander for security during the 2012 London Olympics. Atha was RAF Deputy Commander Operations from 2016 to 2019.
Air Marshal Sir Barry Mark North, is a retired senior Royal Air Force officer, who served as Deputy Commander (Personnel) at RAF Air Command. A helicopter pilot, North has held command appointments at all levels, notably No. 78 Squadron in the Falkland Islands, the Special Forces Flight as a squadron leader and the newly established No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group in the Middle East as an air commodore.

He also served as Director-General of Joint Force Development, Strategic Command from April 2018 to March 2021. He served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff from April 2013 to January 2015, and as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations) from March 2015 to 2018.

From August 2016 to October 2019 he served as Commandant of RAF College Cranwell. He was formerly a Harrier pilot and served as commander of No. 100 Squadron RAF, flying BAE Systems Hawks.
Rear Admiral Jonathan Patrick Pentreath, is a retired senior officer of the Royal Navy. He commanded 845 Naval Air Squadron from 2001 to 2003, including during the Battle of Al Faw in the Iraq War, and later commanded Commando Helicopter Force (2009–11) and Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton (2015–17). He was Commander Joint Helicopter Command from April 2017 until March 2020 when he retired from the Royal Navy.
Air Marshal Harvey Smyth, is a senior Northern Irish Royal Air Force officer, who currently serves as the Air and Space Commander. From July 2018, he served as Air Officer Commanding No. 1 Group. Between February 2020 and August 2022, he took up the new post of Director Space, in the Ministry of Defence.
