A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors.
Channel District is a residential neighborhood in the City of Tampa that includes an entertainment complex, just east of Downtown Tampa, Florida. It is bordered by Ybor Channel on the east and Garrison Channel on the south. Channelside is a nickname for the entertainment complex Channelside Bay Plaza, within the neighborhood that includes shops, restaurants, and bars. It is located next to the Florida Aquarium, American Victory Museum, Port Tampa Bay and a short stretch on the Tampa Riverwalk to the Tampa Bay History Center. Also located in the district is the Amalie Arena where the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning play their home games. The Arena also hosts concerts and other events. The center of the Bay Plaza has a large open court for live music, with views of the downtown skyline, cruise ships and the Port of Tampa. It also houses a Sony Giant Screen theater. The TECO Streetcar has several stops in the district. Also, NEVs are being utilized by startups to link Tampa's core neighborhoods including Channelside. The Tampa Convention Center is located adjacent to the district to the west.
Sooni Taraporevala is an Indian screenwriter, photographer, and filmmaker who is the screenwriter of Mississippi Masala, The Namesake and Oscar-nominated Salaam Bombay!, all directed by Mira Nair. She also adapted Rohinton Mistry's novel Such A Long Journey and wrote the films Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, her directorial debut Little Zizou, and Yeh Ballet, a Netflix original film that she wrote and directed.
Spring Fest, known as SF, is the annual social and cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur held during January in the spring semester. The first edition was held in 1960. The 66th edition of Spring Fest will be organized from 24th January to 27th January 2025.

Gasparilla International Film Festival is an annual independent film festival that takes place in Tampa Bay, Florida. The festival is run by the Tampa Film Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing film education and supporting filmmakers in the Tampa Bay area. The first Gasparilla Film Festival took place in 2007.
The Dylan Thomas Screenplay Award is an annual prize administered by the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea. The prize was established in 2005 by the Swansea Bay Film Festival and is now in its fourth year. Results are announced at the festival's awards ceremony, and winners receive the festival's Tinny prize.
Withoutabox was a website founded in January 2000 by David Straus, Joe Neulight and Charles Neulight which allowed independent filmmakers to self-distribute their films. The first product launched was the International Film Festival Submission system. Withoutabox worked with film festivals and filmmakers all over the world. In January 2008, Withoutabox was acquired by IMDb, a subsidiary of Amazon.
Lessons in Forgetting is a 2012 Indian film produced by Prince Thampi for Arowana Studios. It is based on the novel of the same name by Anita Nair and directed by Unni Vijayan. It stars Adil Hussain, Roshni Achreja, Maya Tideman and Raaghav Chanana. The film was shot in 35mm Cinemascope.
London Indian Film Festival is a film festival established in 2010 to showcase Indian independent film. The festival attracted media attention in its first year, premiering films such as "Love Sex aur Dhokha" by Dibakar Banerjee. Awards given at the festival include a short film competition award and an Audience Prize. It is Europe's largest South Asian Film Festival and is sponsored by the BFI's National Lottery Audience Fund.
The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in New York City, and screens films relating to India, the Indian Diaspora, and the work of Indian filmmakers. The festival began in November 2001 and was founded by Aroon Shivdasani and the Indo-American Arts Council. About 40 films are screened, including features films, shorts, documentaries, and animated films.
Life! Camera Action... is a family-drama film directed, written, edited, produced by Rohit Gupta, in his feature-length directorial debut. Starring Dipti Mehta, Shaheed Woods, Noor Naghmi, Swati Kapila, John Crann, this ninety minutes quasi-autobiographical film follows a girl in pursuit of her dreams of becoming a filmmaker against all odds. The film received several awards and nominations. Its theatrical release was limited to film festivals. The film received direct-to-DVD release and subsequently on other video on demand (VOD) platforms.
Marlin Darrah is the executive director of International Film & Video (IFV), a production company based in the United States. For his documentary work in Portugal and in other locations throughout the world, Darrah was honored with a knighthood in the Royal House of Portugal.

Listen... Amaya is a 2013 Hindi drama film directed by Avinash Kumar Singh, and starring Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval and Swara Bhaskar as leads. The film also marks the return of popular lead pair of the 1980s, Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval, in films like, Chashme Buddoor (1981), Saath Saath (1982), and Katha (1983), together again on screen after 25 years. This was also their last film together, as Farooq Shaikh died several months after the film's release.
Love, Lies and Seeta is a 2012 Indian-American independent romantic comedy film written, produced, directed by Chandra Pemmaraju. Starring Melanie Kannokada, Arjun Gupta, Lavrenti Lopes, Michael Derek, it is built around three distinctly different guys all of whom pine for the same beautiful girl. The movie premiered at the India International Film Festival (IIFF) of Tampa Bay in Florida and went on to play in various international film festivals before having a limited theatrical release in India on May 18, 2012, by Cinemax. The film marks Melanie Kannokada's debut as lead in a feature film.
Route 66 Film Festival is an annual film festival that takes place the first weekend of November. The film festival is located in Springfield, IL and first began in November 2002.
Abhijit Guha is an Indian film director, actor and writer working in the Tollywood film industry. Guha and Sudeshna Roy have worked together in the field of audio visuals since 1994. The duo debuted with their first film Shudhu Tumi and then they made several films in varied genres. They've given Tollywood one of its biggest stars — Abir Chatterjee, who debuted in their film Cross Connection in 2009. They came into prominence after their critically acclaimed film Teen Yaari Kotha. It's a story of personal struggles and friendship of three lower-middle-class men. Teen Yaari Katha was showcased in the competition section of Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in 2012. It travelled to the Bangkok International Film as well as Kolkata International Film Festival.Their film Bapi bari jaa is considered as cult classic among the Bangla film lovers for its coming of age storyline and relatable characters. It also marked the debut of Arjun Chakraborty and MP Mimi Chakraborty in Bangla film industry.
