The Football Association of Slovenia is the governing body of football in Slovenia. It is also responsible for the Slovenia national football team and the Slovenia women's national football team. It was founded as Ljubljana Football Subassociation on 24 April 1920.

The 1954 Kansas State Wildcats football team represented Kansas State University in the 1954 college football season. The team's head football coach was Bill Meek, in his fourth and final year at the helm of the Wildcats. The Wildcats played their home games in Memorial Stadium. The Wildcats finished the season with a 7–3 record with a 3–3 record in conference play. They finished in fifth place in the Big Seven Conference. The Wildcats scored 191 points and gave up 154 points. The Wildcats did not outscore their opponents again until 1969. 1954 was Kansas State's last winning season until 1970.

Dionysiopolis or Dionysopolis, was a city of Phrygia in Asia Minor. The demonym Dionysopolitae (Διονυσοπολίτης) occurs on coins, and in a letter of M. Cicero to his brother Quintus, in which he speaks of the people of Dionysopolis being very hostile to Quintus, which must have been for something that Quintus did during his praetorship of Asia. Pliny places the Dionysopolitae in the conventus of Apamea, which is all the ancient writers note of their position. We may infer from the coin that the place was on the Maeander, or near it. Stephanus of Byzantium says that it was founded by Attalus and Eumenes. Stephanus mentions another Dionysopolis in Pontus, originally called Cruni, and he quotes two verses of Scymnus about it; however, the town of Dionysupolis in Thrace but on the Pontus, rather than in Pontus could be meant.
The 1954 Pittsburgh Panthers football team represented the University of Pittsburgh as an independent in the 1954 college football season. The Panthers lost their first three games of the season under third year head coach Red Dawson, before he stepped down due to poor health. Pittsburgh's athletic director, Tom Hamilton, appointed himself interim head coach and led the team to a 4–2 record over their final six games of the season. Pittsburgh finished the year with a record of 4–5.

Fernando de Argila Pazzaglia, known as Argila, was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Having begun his career with Barcelona in 1940, he moved to Oviedo in 1944 where he made 247 league appearances until 1957. He spent part of the 1951–52 season on loan at Atlético Madrid. He played in one match for the Spain national team in 1954. He was also named in Spain's squad for the Group 6 qualification tournament for the 1954 FIFA World Cup.
