It lacks many facilities including water and sanitation. Recently gauge conversion started on this line. After conversion it will connect Indore to South India. The Indore–Gwalior line is a railway route on the Western Railway, West Central Railway & North Central Railway section of Indian Railways. This route is now fully electrified awaiting CRS approval.
The Ruthiyai-Maksi section of the West Central Railway Zone is a fully operational public transit system in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It connects Ruthiyai Jn with Maksi Jn. The section forms a part of the Indore-Gwalior line which connects two important cities, Indore & Gwalior with each other.
