The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team, nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It was a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status until it was suspended, for 11 days, by the ICC on 10 November 2023. The suspension was lifted on 21 November 2023. The team first played international cricket in 1926–27 and became an associate member of the ICC in 1965. They were awarded the Test status in 1981, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket-playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket.
The Sri Lanka women's national cricket team represents Sri Lanka in international women's cricket. One of ten teams competing in the ICC Women's Championship, the team is organised by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Lokuge Dinesh Chandimal is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. A handy right-handed middle order batter who sometimes plays as the wicket-keeper, Chandimal lead Sri Lanka in the group stages of the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 in which Sri Lanka ended up as the champions. As of today Chandimal has scored over 5000 runs in his test career and has scored over 10000 runs in combined international cricket.
Narangoda Liyanaarachchige Thisara Chirantha Perera, popularly as Thisara Perera, is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer who played all formats for the national team. He also captained the team in limited-overs formats. Domestically he plays for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club in the Premier Trophy and Premier Limited-Overs Tournament, and the Jaffna Stallions in the Lanka Premier League. Perera has played franchise T20 cricket all around the world for numerous leagues. Primarily a bowling all-rounder, he is an aggressive left-handed batsman who can hit big sixes in death overs and is a useful right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Bismah Maroof is a Pakistani cricketer who plays as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm leg break. In June 2022, she became the most runs scorer for Pakistani women's cricket team in both ODI and T20I formats. She has appeared for Pakistan in over 200 matches, captained the side between 2013 and 2020, and was the first woman to score 1,000 runs in ODIs for Pakistan. In April 2021, Maroof took a break from cricket to give birth, before confirming her return to availability in December 2021 ahead of the 2022 World Cup. She has played domestic cricket for Lahore, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited and Pakistan Universities. As of 2022, she currently holds the world record for having scored the most number of runs in the history of Women's ODIs without a single career century with 3,017 runs.
Anisa Mohammed is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays for Trinidad and Tobago, Trinbago Knight Riders and the West Indies. She plays as a right-arm off spin bowler. Since her international debut at 15 years of age she has played in 122 One Day International (WODI) and 111 Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. Mohammed was the first cricketer, male or female, to take 100 wickets in T20Is. In WODIs, she is currently fifth on the all-time dismissals list with 151 wickets to her name. She was also the first bowler for the West Indies to take 100 wickets in WODIs, and the first for the West Indies to take a hat-trick in a Women's Twenty20 International match.
Atapattu Mudiyanselage Chamari Jayangani is a Sri Lankan cricketer and the current captain of the women's Twenty20 International team of Sri Lanka. Chamari was the tenth captain for Sri Lanka women's national cricket team. In November 2017, she was named the Women's Cricketer of the Year for the 2016–17 season at Sri Lanka Cricket's annual awards. She is the first Sri Lankan woman to play in franchise cricket. In November 2023, it was announced that a special dedicated seating zone at the Sydney Cricket Ground would be named after her as the Chamari Bay.
Pathira Vasan Dushmantha Chameera is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for all three formats for the national team, and plays domestically for Nondescripts Cricket Club. He made his international debut for Sri Lanka in January 2015.
Andile Lucky Phehlukwayo is a South African professional cricketer. He is a left handed lower order batter who bowls right-arm fast-medium. He made his international debut for South Africa in September 2016.
South African women's cricket team toured Sri Lanka in the beginning of 2014–15 season. The tour consisted of a series of 4 One day internationals and 3 Twenty20 internationals. First three of the four ODIs formed a part of the 2014–16 ICC Women's Championship.
Ciara Johanna Metcalfe is an Irish former cricketer who played as a right-arm leg break bowler. She appeared in 1 Test match, 53 One Day Internationals and 25 Twenty20 Internationals for Ireland between 1999 and 2018, playing her final match during the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament. She also played in the Women's Super Series for Dragons, and spent one season playing for Northamptonshire in 2018.
Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva, better known as Wanindu Hasaranga, is an international cricketer who plays for the Sri Lanka cricket team in white ball cricket as a bowling All rounder. He is a Right-arm leg spinner. Hasaranga made his international debut for Sri Lanka in July 2017. His elder brother, Chaturanga de Silva, has also represented the national team. Hasaranga made history when he took the first ever hat-trick for Sri Lanka in a T20 World Cup during the 2021 edition of the tournament, and being the first Sri Lankan on an ODI debut to take a hat-trick.
Australia women's cricket team toured Sri Lanka in September 2016. The tour consisted of a series of four One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I). Three of the four WODIs were part of the ongoing 2014–16 ICC Women's Championship. Australia won the ODI series 4–0 and the one-off T20I match by 10 wickets. Australia's margin of victory in the T20I was the largest, by balls remaining, in a women's fixture.
Harshitha Samarawickrama is a Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for Sri Lanka's national women's team. She made her Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Ireland in March 2016 and her One Day International (ODI) debut against Australia in September 2016.

She was a member of Sri Lanka's squad for the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Kavisha Dilhari is a Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team. She has played domestic cricket since the age of fifteen. She made her Women's One Day International cricket (WODI) debut for Sri Lanka Women against Pakistan Women on 20 March 2018.
