The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (Malay : Institut Pendidikan Teknikal Brunei; abbreviation: IBTE) is a post-secondary institution providing technical and vocational education in Brunei. IBTE was created on May 27, 2014 [3] from the merger of the Department of Technical Education and seven technical and vocational schools nationwide. [4]
Since 2016, the seven schools under IBTE have been restructured into two cluster of schools, namely IBTE Central and IBTE Satellite. [5] The schools have also been renamed so as to reflect better their merger under one umbrella institution, taking up the terms 'IBTE' and 'Campus' as part of the new names. [6]

Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) is the capital and largest city of Brunei. It is officially a municipal area with an area of 100.36 square kilometres (38.75 sq mi) and an estimated population of 100,700 as of 2007. It is part of Brunei–Muara District, the smallest yet most populous district which is home to over 70 per cent of the country's population. It is the country's largest urban centre and nominally the country's only city. The capital is home to Brunei's seat of government, as well as a commercial and cultural centre. It was formerly known as Brunei Town until it was renamed in 1970 in honour of Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the 28th Sultan of Brunei and the father of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
Kuala Belait or officially the Kuala Belait Town, and colloquially referred to as KB, is the administrative town of Belait District, Brunei. The population of the town proper was 4,259 in 2016. Kuala Belait is officially a municipal area, as well as a village under the mukim of the same name. The town is located 85 kilometres (53 mi) west of the country's capital Bandar Seri Begawan, and 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Seria, the district's other town. It is also in the westernmost part of country, near the mouth of the Belait River.
Jefri Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III is a member of the Bruneian royal family. His elder brother is the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah. Prince Jefri was the finance minister of his oil-rich country from 1986 to 1997. He also served as chairman of the Brunei Investment Agency (BIA) which invests much of the country's wealth and was responsible for overseas investments. Additionally, he is the Deputy Chairman 3 of the Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara (JAIN).
The Universiti Brunei Darussalam is a national research university situated in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, was founded in 1985 and is the oldest institution in the country. Nine research institutes, six academic service centers, and eight academic faculties make up the institution.

It is located in Tungku, a settlement in Brunei-Muara District. The school is a post-secondary institution which provides training specifically for the purpose of being a vehicle mechanic.
The Higher National Technical Education Certificate, abbreviated as HNTec, is a post-secondary vocational qualification in Brunei. It is a Level 4 qualification in the country's current national qualifications framework and awarded by the Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC). It is equivalent to the National Diploma, although the latter has been phased out in government institutions. HNTec programmes are offered in the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and generally last two years. The qualification allows entry into Level 5-equivalent qualification, previously the Higher National Diploma. HNTec is the continuation of the National Technical Education Certificate (NTec).

It is a Level 3 qualification in the country's current national qualifications framework and awarded by the Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC), a government body under the Ministry of Education. It is equivalent to the Skill Certificate 3; the latter had been phased out in government institutions. NTec programmes are offered in the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and generally last one or two years. Entry to the qualification requires completion of the secondary education although it is not necessary to obtain any credits in the O Level examination. NTec qualification allows entry to the Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) or other Level 4-equivalent qualification.
Industrial Skills Qualification (ISQ) is a post-secondary vocational qualification in Brunei. It is a Level 2 qualification in the country's national qualifications framework and in the same level as the academic O Level qualification. ISQ was introduced in 2013 and is awarded in the Institute of Brunei Technical Education; entry into ISQ programmes is for Year 9 leavers in the current education system, the 21st Century National Education System or commonly known as SPN21, or Form Three leavers in pre-SPN21.
