The International Kho Kho Federation, akka IKKF, is the global governing body for the sport of kho kho, a traditional Indian tag game that has gained international popularity. [1] Established to promote, regulate, and develop kho kho worldwide, the IKKF serves as the central authority for organizing international tournaments, standardizing rules, and fostering the sport’s growth on a global scale. History

The IKKF was founded in 2018 with the objective of bringing together various national kho kho associations under a single umbrella organization. Rooted in the rich tradition of Indian sports, kho kho has been played for centuries. The establishment of the IKKF marked a pivotal step in its transition from a regional pastime to a recognized international sport. [4]

Kho kho is played on a rectangular court with a central lane connecting two poles which are at either end of the court. During the game, nine players from the chasing team are on the field, with eight of them sitting (crouched) in the central lane, while three runners from the defending team run around the court and try to avoid being touched. Each sitting player on the chasing team faces the opposite half of the field that their adjacent teammates are facing.
