Inverclyde North is one of the seven wards used to elect members of the Inverclyde Council. It elects four Councillors.

Contents

The ward includes northern areas of Greenock, predominantly the town's West End and all streets between Lyle Hill and the Firth of Clyde up to the boundary with Gourock, plus part of the town centre (north of the Inverclyde Line railway tracks, west of Bank Street, north of Wellington Street). [2] In 2019, the ward had a population of 13,759. [3]

Its territory in historic Clydesdale covers the small market town of Lanark plus Kirkfieldbank, and a rural hinterland mostly to its north-east extending to the council border with West Lothian, which includes the village of Forth – these boundaries were unaffected by a 2017 national review.         Hamilton North and East is one of the twenty wards used to elect members of the South Lanarkshire Council. Created in 2007, it elects three councillors. Its territory covers northern parts of Hamilton including the town centre, Barncluith, Burnbank, Chantinghall, Hamilton West and Whitehill, plus the separate village of Ferniegair/Allanton, the eastern boundary formed by the River Clyde. A 2017 national review saw the addition of a few streets at Ballantrae Road and the removal of some territory south of the town centre. In 2019, the ward's population was 15,036.

As its name suggests, its territory consists of the southern part of the burgh of Bishopbriggs, bordering the city of Glasgow further south; following a 2017 boundary review, some streets in the west of the town were added from the Bishopbriggs North and Torrance ward, but the number of representatives did not change. In 2020, the ward had a population of 15,868.
