Inverclyde South is one of the seven wards used to elect members of the Inverclyde Council. It elects three Councillors.
The ward includes southern areas of Greenock: neighbourhoods such as Bow Farm, Coves, Cowdenknowes, Gateside, Penny Fern, Ravenscraig and Smithston, plus a small part of the town centre (west of Broomhill Street, roughly between Drumfrochar and Greenock West railway stations). [2] In 2019, the ward had a population of 9,203. [3]

Inverclyde Council is one of the 32 local authorities of Scotland, covering the Inverclyde council area. In its current form the council was created in 1996, replacing the previous Inverclyde District Council which existed from 1975 to 1996.
Greenock and Inverclyde is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood) covering most of the council area of Inverclyde. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. It is also one of ten constituencies in the West Scotland electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to the ten constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
Livingston South is one of the nine wards used to elect members of the West Lothian Council. It elects four Councillors. In April 2020, Peter Johnson retired from West Lothian Council triggering a by-election on the 11th March 2021 where Maria MacAulay (SNP) was duly elected.
Lomond is one of the six wards used to elect members of the West Dunbartonshire Council. It elects three Councillors.

Coatbridge South is one of the twenty-one wards used to elect members of the North Lanarkshire Council. Covering neighbourhoods in the south-east of Coatbridge, it currently elects four councillors. A boundary review in 2017 caused the addition of an area between Langloan Street, the A725 and the A89, with a small increase in the electorate and an additional seat from the original three. The ward had a population of 16,889 in 2019.
Motherwell West is one of the twenty-one wards used to elect members of the North Lanarkshire Council. It elects three councillors and covers parts of Motherwell lying west of the Argyle Line and Cumbernauld line railways, including the Forgewood, Greenacres, Braedale and North Motherwell neighbourhoods, with a population of 14,256 in 2019; created in 2007, its boundaries remained unchanged in a 2017 national review.
Renfrewshire is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland, formally established in 1996 to succeed the Renfrew district within the Strathclyde region, both of which were abolished; the headquarters are at Paisley.
Bishopbriggs South is one of the seven wards used to elect members of the East Dunbartonshire Council. Created in 2007, it elects three Councillors. As its name suggests, its territory consists of the southern part of the burgh of Bishopbriggs, bordering the city of Glasgow further south; following a 2017 boundary review, some streets in the west of the town were added from the Bishopbriggs North and Torrance ward, but the number of representatives did not change. In 2020, the ward had a population of 15,868.
