The Ireland women's cricket team toured Zimbabwe in January and February 2024 to play the Zimbabwe women's cricket team. [1] The tour consisted of three One Day International (ODI) and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. [2] The T20I matches formed part of both teams' preparations for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier. [3]

Contents

Ireland comfortably won the rain-affected first ODI by 10 wickets. [4] The second match ended in a rain-affected tie. [5] Ireland won the third game by 81 runs, [6] and therefore won the ODI series 2–0. [7] [8]

The tourists won the first T20I by 57 runs. [9] During the match, Amy Hunter became the first Irish woman, and the third Irish cricketer (men or women), to score a century in both T20Is and ODIs. [10] [11] Ireland also won the next two matches of the series to take an unassailable lead in the T20I series. [12] [13] Ireland won the rain-curtailed fourth match by 9 wickets. [14] The tourists went on to win the fifth game by 14 runs, [15] and therefore swept the T20I series 5-0. [16]

India won the ODI series 3–0 and the T20I series was drawn 1–1. Zimbabwe's win in the second T20I match was their first Twenty20 win over India.

The 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament held from 1 to 8 July 2018 in Zimbabwe. It was a tri-nation series between Australia, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at the Harare Sports Club. In the fourth T20I, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by seven wickets, therefore Australia and Pakistan qualified for the final. Pakistan defeated Australia in the final by six wickets to win the series.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured South Africa in September and October 2018 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI fixtures were part of South Africa's preparations for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Ireland in June and July 2019 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. All the matches were played at the Stormont Cricket Ground in Belfast and the Bready Cricket Club Ground in Magheramason. Zimbabwe last toured Ireland in 2003.

The 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in September 2019. It was a tri-nation series featuring Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The 2019–20 Singapore Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that was held from 27 September to 3 October 2019 in Singapore. It was a tri-nation series featuring Singapore, Nepal and Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Singapore used the series to prepare for their first appearance in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in October 2019. It was the first T20I tri-series to be played in Singapore.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Bangladesh in February and March 2020 to play one Test match, three One Day International (ODI) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. On 26 January 2020, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the itinerary for the tour. It was the first time that a tour between the two sides featured a one-off Test match. Zimbabwe last toured Bangladesh in October and November 2018, and last won a series in the country during their tour in November 2001. On 9 February, the BCB moved the three ODI matches from Chittagong to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, to give the venue more exposure and international attention. The one-off Test match was the 100th international match to be played between the two sides.

The Pakistan cricket team toured Zimbabwe in April and May 2021 to play two Tests and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The tour of Zimbabwe followed on from Pakistan's tour of South Africa. On 28 March 2021, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the tour itinerary, with all the matches being played behind closed doors in Harare.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured Zimbabwe in July 2021 to play one Test, three One Day International (ODI), and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Bangladesh last toured Zimbabwe in April and May 2013. Originally, two Test matches were scheduled to be played on the tour, but one of the Tests was replaced with an additional T20I match.

The South Africa cricket team toured Ireland in July 2021 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Cricket Ireland confirmed the fixtures in February 2021. Originally, the first and the third T20I matches were scheduled take place on 20 and 25 July respectively. However, in June 2021, Cricket Ireland made a minor change to the tour itinerary by moving both of those matches forward by one day. It was South Africa's first full limited overs tour of Ireland, after previously playing one ODI in Belfast in June 2007. The opening T20I fixture was the first time the two teams had played each other in that format.

The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Cricket Ireland confirmed the fixtures in February 2021. Originally, three T20I matches were scheduled to be played, but two more T20I matches were added in April 2021, after planned matches against Pakistan were cancelled.

Amy Hunter is an Irish cricketer who plays for Dragons and Ireland. In October 2021, during the final match of Ireland's tour of Zimbabwe, Hunter became the youngest cricketer, male or female, to score a century in an ODI match, doing so on her 16th birthday. As a result, Hunter was named as the Irish Times/Sport Ireland Sportswoman for October 2021.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured Zimbabwe in July and August 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The original tour schedule was for two Test matches and three ODIs, but the Test matches were replaced by the T20I fixtures. All the matches took place at the Harare Sports Club. Prior to the series, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named Nurul Hasan as their T20I captain for the tour, after Mahmudullah lacked performance and results. However, Nurul suffered a finger injury during the second T20I match and was ruled out of the rest of the tour. The BCB named Mosaddek Hossain as the team's captain for the third T20I match.

The Ireland men's cricket team toured Bangladesh in March and April 2023 to play one Test, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.

The Zimbabwe women's cricket team toured Thailand in April 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. This was Zimbabwe's first tour to Thailand for a bilateral series. Originally the tour was to consist of just three T20Is, before being expanded to a series of 3 ODIs and 4 T20Is. However, after the completion of the first match of the T20I series, it was announced that the series would be reduced to three matches due to scheduling conflicts with the Southeast Asian Games cricket tournament.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Sri Lanka in January 2024 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The T20I series was part of Sri Lanka's preparation for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament.
