Isiokolo (also known as Otorho 'r' agbon) is a town in the Ethiope East local government area of Delta State in Nigeria.

It is the headquarters of the Ethiope East local government area of Delta State, and also the Traditional Headquarters of Agbon Kingdom, which houses the ultra-modern palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom [1] [2]

James Onanefe Ibori is a Nigerian politician who was Governor of Delta State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. An ethnic Urhobo by descent, Ibori is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a leader in the Niger Delta region and a national figure in Nigeria. In 2012, Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in prison for money laundering.

It is mostly known as a university town and has the main campus of the Delta State University located there. Abraka town is a favourite destination for domestic and international tourists. The Abraka beach is famous for its natural flowing spring water, and has sports recreational facilities for outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing, swimming, barbecue and picnicking.

The Local Government Area of Ethiope East is located in the center of Delta State, Nigeria. Although it is not directly adjacent to Asagba, Asamagidi, Orerokpe, Ovwori, Orhokpokpor, Eruemukohwarien, Ekrokpe, Ughelli, or Agbasa, these places are nearby. The local government of Ethiope East is home to three districts and 67 settlements. Agbon, Abraka, and Isiokolo are the districts in Ethiope East and Isiokolo is where the local government administration is headquartered.

The Urhobos are people located in southern Nigeria, near the northwestern Niger Delta.

The Agbon Kingdom is one of twenty-four subunits of the Urhobo people that have been in existence since before the rise of the Benin Empire in the 1440s and before the arrival of the Portuguese in the Western Niger Delta in the 1480s.

Okpara Inland is a community located in the Ethiope East local government area of Delta State Nigeria. This community is a progeny of the Agbon Kingdom. Local history has it that it is the first son of Agbon whose traditional seat of leadership is Isiokolo. The previous king of the community, now deceased, HRM Chamberlain Oyibocha Orovwuje, Ogurimerime Okpara I, used this community as his centre of leadership bypassing the ancient satellite of Isiokolo.

Samagidi or Asamagidi is a town in Kokori sub-clan in Agbon Kingdom in Ethiope East Local Government Council Area of Delta State in Nigeria.

Chamberlain Oyibocha Orovwuje, Ogurimerime I, was the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom from 1958 till 2012. He was also the former chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers. He ruled the traditional kingdom of Agbon for 54 years and clinched the title of the longest reigning monarch in Delta State.

Kingsley Esiso is a Nigerian lawyer and politician from Delta state. He was Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Library Affairs. In May 2016, he was elected and currently serves as Chair of the Delta State People's Democratic Party.

Delta Central Senatorial District in Delta State, Nigeria covers 8 local governments which include Ethiope East, Ethiope West, Sapele, Okpe, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu and Uvwie. The headquarters of Delta Central Senatorial District is Udu. Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Ovie Omo –Agege is from Delta Central Senatorial District. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress.

Delta State University Teach Hospital, was inaugurated on the 10th of June, 2020 by Goodluck Jonathan, former president of the federal republic of Nigeria, to provide tertiary health care through training of undergraduate medical students at the Delta State University, Abraka. The facility was located at Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, South East, Nigeria.

The 2023 Delta State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Delta State, concurrent with elections to the Delta State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Nigerian presidential election in Delta State</span>

The 2023 Nigerian presidential election in Delta State will be held on 25 February 2023 as part of the nationwide 2023 Nigerian presidential election to elect the president and vice president of Nigeria. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterward on 11 March.
