Iswarya Menon is an Indian actress who works in Tamil, [1] Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam films. [2] [3]

Early life and education

Iswarya Menon's family is from Chendamangalam, Kerala. She was born and brought up in Erode, Tamil Nadu. She did her higher secondary education at Vellalar Matriculation School, Erode. [4] She completed her Instrumentation engineering from the SRM Institute of Science and Technology. [5]

Career

Menon was first seen in the Tamil comedy film Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru . [6] She debuted as Akshara in the Kannada industry with Dasavala which was directed by M S Ramesh. She was cast opposite Prem, of Jogi fame. [7] The film released on 11 October 2013 and her performance as a mentally challenged girl was generally well received. [8] [9] [10] [11] Her next release was Tamil film Apple Penne. [12] The film was based on a mother and daughter relationship, where Iswarya was the daughter, while Roja essayed the role of her mother. [13] [14] She will next be seen in the Kannada horror comedy Namo Boothatma . [15] [16] [17]

<i>Dasavala</i> 2013 Indian film

Dasavala is a 2013 Kannada drama film starring Prem and Iswarya Menon. The film is directed by M. S. Ramesh, and also stars Hema Choudhary, Rangayana Raghu and Avinash. Dasavala was released on 11 October 2013. Anitha Bhat featured in an item song in Dasavala. The storyline of the movie was similar to two more Kannada movies – Director's Special and Karodpathi. It was also reported that the concept of all these films could be traced back to the 1996 Spanish film Familia in which a lonely rich man hires actors to act as his family members on his birthday.

<i>Namo Bhootatma</i> 2014 Indian film

Namo Bhootatma is a 2014 Indian Kannada horror comedy film directed by Murali in his debut. The film was a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Yaamirukka Bayamey, which itself was based on the Korean movie The Quiet Family. It stars Komal Kumar, Iswarya Menon, Anaswara Kumar, Gayathri Iyer, and Harish Raj in the lead roles. Telugu comedian Ali made his second Kannada movie with this film. It's also dubbed in Hindi with the same name. A sequel Namo Bhoothathma 2 released in 2023.

Indian actress and film producer Nayanthara works in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. She is also referred as Lady Superstar of South Indian Cinema. She made her acting debut with Sathyan Anthikad's Malayalam film Manassinakkare in 2003, post the success she became a popular star in the Malayalam industry. She did two more Malayalam films the following year: Shaji Kailas' Natturajavu, and Fazil's psychological thriller Vismayathumbathu. Nayanthara's first appearance in a non-Malayalam film was Hari's Tamil film Ayya which released in 2005. While shooting for the film, she was cast in another Tamil film Chandramukhi, after its director P. Vasu's wife had seen Manassinakkare and recommended her. The film ran for over 100 days in theatres, eventually turning Nayanthara into one of the most-sought after actresses in Tamil.
