It Girl is the debut EP recorded by Canadian country music duo Petric. It was released October 16, 2015, through Steelhead Music. The collection includes the top 25 Canada Country hit "Here Goes Everything".

Background and release

In May 2015, Petric was announced as the first artist signed by Canadian singer Dallas Smith's then-new record label Steelhead Music. [2] They released their debut single, "Here Goes Everything", on May 21, 2015, and it first impacted Canadian country radio on May 26, 2015. [1] [3] [4] It Girl was released October 16, 2015, along with the single release of its title track. [5] An acoustic version of the EP, titled It Girl (Stripped Down), was released December 9, 2016. [6]

Promotion

The duo joined the western leg of Smith's Tippin' Point Tour in January and February 2015, where they began debuting the songs from It Girl. [7] They held an album launch party at the Park Theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 25, 2015. [7]

Critical reception

Amanda Hather of Canadian Beats rated the EP four-and-a-half stars out of five, writing, "the vocals and harmonies on this EP are very impressive and go to show how much talent the duo has." [8]

Imaginary Cities was a Canadian indie pop duo based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The project consisted of multi-instrumentalist Rusty Matyas, formerly of the Waking Eyes and a sometime collaborator of the Weakerthans, and vocalist Marti Sarbit.

Petric is a Canadian country music band composed of brothers Jason and Tom Petric from Transcona, Winnipeg, Manitoba, along with the brothers long time friend and band member, Jordan Day. The band officially formed in 2014 and became the first act signed to Dallas Smith's record label Steelhead Music in May 2015. Their debut single, "Here Goes Everything", reached the top 25 on the Billboard Canada Country chart. It is featured on their debut extended play, It Girl, released October 16, 2015.

"I Hate You for It" is a song recorded by Canadian country artist Chad Brownlee for his first extended play, Hearts on Fire (2016). Brownlee co-wrote the song with the track's producers, Ben Glover and Mitch Merrett. It was released to Canadian country radio April 26, 2016 as the second single three days before the EP's release. "I Hate You for It" was certified Gold by Music Canada in January 2017 for digital sales of over 40,000 copies, becoming his first certified single.

Faouzia Ouihya, known mononymously as Faouzia, is a Moroccan-Canadian singer-songwriter and musician best known for her track "Tears Of Gold".
