Louis Charles Augustin Georges Trenet was a renowned French singer-songwriter who composed both the music and the lyrics for nearly 1,000 songs over a career that lasted more than 60 years. These songs include "Boum!" (1938), "La Mer" (1946) and "Nationale 7" (1955). Trenet is also noted for his work with musicians Michel Emer and Léo Chauliac, with whom he recorded "Y'a d'la joie" (1938) for the first and "La Romance de Paris" (1941) and "Douce France" (1947) for the latter. He was awarded an Honorary Molière Award in 2000.

For 23 years, she was the host of National Public Radio's syndicated radio show JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater. She is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization.

The Collection 1982–1988 is a French-language compilation album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released in Europe in 1997. It features twenty-eight rare songs recorded between 1982 and 1988 on a two-CD set. Previously these songs were released on separate albums: Gold Vol. 1 (1995) and C'est pour vivre (1997). The album was issued under many different titles, with many different covers, and by various music labels. It charted in European countries reaching number eleven in Denmark, number twenty in Belgium Wallonia, number twenty-seven in Sweden and number thirty-seven in the Netherlands.
Le chemin is the third studio album by the French singer Emmanuel Moire. As his contract with the Warner Music record label had expired in May 2011 after the release of his first album, (Là) Où je pars in 2007, and the follow-up, L'Équilibre in 2009, Moire said in 2012 that he was searching for a new record label for materials he was preparing for a third album. At Mercury, an affiliate of Universal Music Group, he met Dominique Gau, who had just joined Mercury as artistic director from Warner, Olivier Nuss and Éric Lelièvre. He announced on 14 January 2013 that Mercury would release his forthcoming album.
"Little Lies" is a song by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac from their 14th studio album, Tango in the Night (1987). It was written by band member Christine McVie and her then-husband, Eddy Quintela, with lead vocals performed primarily by McVie; the chorus features backing vocals by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. The song was released in August 1987 by Warner Bros. Records, as the third single from Tango in the Night. McVie recalled that she wrote the song at her pool with a pad and paper; while Quintela was listed as one of the songwriters, McVie stated in an interview with MOJO that his role in the creation of "Little Lies" was minimal.

Bridgewater had previously starred in Lady Day in the late 1980s, a biographical play about Holiday.
