Jamie Pollard (born February 11, 1965) is an American athletic director who works at Iowa State University. Before Iowa State, Pollard served in various capacities in intercollegiate athletics at Wisconsin, Maryland and Saint Louis. [1]
Pollard was born and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, prior to attending University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. At Wisconsin–Oshkosh he was a four year letter-winner in both cross country and track & field from 1983–1987. [2] In cross country Pollard helped UW–Oshkosh to a fifth-place finish in 1983, a fourth-place finish in 1984, a second-place finish in 1985 and a fourth-place finish in 1986. In 1986 he had his best personal finish resulting in All-America status, a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Championship. [3] In track & field his career culminated in an NCAA Championship in the 5,000 meter run in 1987. [4]
Post graduation Pollard was a CPA at Arthur Andersen & Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1987-1989. [5] From there he transitioned into his first job in athletic administration becoming Associate AD for Internal Operations at Saint Louis University. At SLU he managed operations and oversaw balancing the budget for the athletic department. [6] In 1994 he transitioned to a similar role at the University of Maryland. [7] Then in 1998 Pollard became a Senior Associate AD for Administration and the CFO for the University of Wisconsin. In this role he oversaw all finances and fundraising efforts for the athletic department. In 2003 he was named to Sports Business Journal's Forty Under Forty List. [8] In 2003 he was internally promoted to be the deputy athletic director to serve as the number two under Barry Alvarez. [1]
On September 19, 2005 it was announced that Pollard was hired as the athletic director at Iowa State. [9]
Some highlights of his tenure at ISU include hiring head coaches Fred Hoiberg, [10] Steve Prohm, [11] T. J. Otzelberger, and Matt Campbell. [12] He has overseen investments of over $160 million on athletic facilities including Jack Trice Stadium. [13]
Jamie and his wife Ellen have four children: Thomas, Annie, Margaret and James. Thomas, a member of the Iowa State Cross Country team, was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2017. [14] Margaret, a member of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Cross Country Team, was awarded the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award in 2021. [15]
Iowa State University of Science and Technology is a public land-grant research university in Ames, Iowa, United States. The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference that competes in the NCAA's Division III. In women's gymnastics, it competes alongside Division I and II members, as the NCAA sponsors a single championship event open to members of all NCAA divisions. Fredrick Kristian Hoiberg is an American college basketball coach and former player. He has served as the men's head basketball coach at the University of Nebraska since 2019. Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Iowa, and played college basketball at Iowa State University in Ames where he earned the nickname "the Mayor". He was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) where, over his ten-year career, he played for the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and Minnesota Timberwolves. After retiring as a player, he served as vice president for basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves before beginning his coaching career at his alma mater, Iowa State University. He was there from 2010 to 2015 before going on to coach in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls from 2015 to 2018.

Originally, the men's and women's teams were considered separate; but beginning in the 2007 season the two teams were combined and are now operated as one single sport at the university. The Cyclones host their home meets at the Cross Country Course located on Iowa State's campus.

The Murray State Racers men's basketball program represents Murray State University in intercollegiate men's basketball. Murray State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), having joined that conference in 2022 after 74 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Racers have played home games at the CFSB Center on their campus in Murray, Kentucky since 1998. Murray State made its 18th appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2022. Five times the Racers advanced in the tournament, most recently by defeating the University of San Francisco in 2022. In 1988, Murray State defeated NC State in the first round but lost to eventual national champion Kansas in the second round. In 2010, 22 years to the date of the 1988 win, the Racers beat Vanderbilt and lost to eventual runner-up Butler in the second round.

The Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Previously, he was the head coach at Iowa State University, a position he had held from 2015 to 2021. Prohm served in the same capacity at Murray State University from 2011 to 2015.
