Jan Lacina (born 25 January 1970) is a Czech politician,since October 2022 Councillor of Prague 6 district, [1] and since October 2021 a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. [2] He is the vice-chairman of the Committee on Science,Education,Culture,Youth and Sports,a member of the Media Affairs Committee,a member of the Standing Committee on the Control of the National Security Office and the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,where he serves in the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy and the Committee on Culture,Science,Education and Media. He studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University in Prague. After the election of Václav Havel as Czechoslovak president on 29 December 1989,he ended his football coaching studies and started to work as a journalist.
From 1990 to 1997,he worked as a reporter for the print media,Czech Radio,Czech Television and other commercial stations. From 1998 to 2013,he worked as a television producer,screenwriter,director [4] [5] [6] [7] and lyricist. [8] From 1998 to 2000,he was also the media strategist for the Prague –European Capital of Culture 2000 project. On November 17,2009,he was in charge of daylong project Albertov 16:00 aired by the Czech Television with the subtitle "Live Broadcast from the Past",analyzing just 20 years after the start of the so-called Velvet Revolution all major events that initiated political change in Czechoslovakia and turned communist totalitarianism into a liberal democratic system. He also published several books. Before the fourth and last election of Václav Havel as the Czech president in 1998,his book Havel na Hrad! has come out. [10] In 2013,he ended all activities in the media. He runs several Prague cafés.
Since 2013,he has been a registered supporter of the Mayors and Independents political movement. In 2015,he became its member. Since 2021,the Mayors and Independents movement has become the second strongest government party and part of the liberal-conservative pro-European government of the Prime Minister Petr Fiala. [11] In 2022,he was elected as a vice-chairman of the Mayors and Independents. [12]
In the years 2014–2021,as Deputy Mayor of Prague 6,Lacina initiated a range of completed art installations in public space.
He studied Political Science,International Relations and also Media Studies. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Faculty of Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň and a master's degree in Media Studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences,Charles University in Prague,focusing on public service media. He lives in his hometown district:Prague 6-Bubeneč and raises two children:Laura Sára (2006) and Adam Sebastian (2008).
Václav Havel was a Czech statesman,author,poet,playwright and dissident. Havel served as the last president of Czechoslovakia from 1989 until 1992,prior to the dissolution of Czechoslovakia on 31 December,before he became the first president of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2003. He was the first democratically elected president of either country after the fall of communism. As a writer of Czech literature,he is known for his plays,essays and memoirs.

Václav Havel Airport Prague,formerly Prague RuzyněInternational Airport,is an international airport of Prague,the capital of the Czech Republic. Ivan Martin Jirous was a Czech poet and dissident,best known as the artistic director of the Czech psychedelic rock group The Plastic People of the Universe,and later one of the key figures of the Czech underground during the communist regime. The Plastic People of the Universe (PPU) is a Czech rock band from Prague. They are considered the foremost representatives of Prague's underground culture (1968–1989),which defied Czechoslovakia's Communist regime. Members of the band often suffered serious repercussions,including arrests and prosecution,because of their non-conformist ideals. The group continues to perform,despite the death in 2001 of its founder,main composer,and bassist,Milan Hlavsa. Up to 2023,they had released nine studio albums and over a dozen live albums.

Karel,12th and 7th Prince of Schwarzenberg was a Czech politician,diplomat and statesman who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic from 2007 to 2009 and then again between 2010 and 2013. Schwarzenberg was leader and co-founder of the TOP 09 party and its candidate for president of the Czech Republic in the 2013 election. Bubeneč is a district in the north-west of Prague. 52% of the district is in Prague 7,but most of the built-up area is in Prague 6. Sparta Prague football club and their stadium Generali Arena is situated at the south-eastern edge of Bubeneč,and the district also covers Stromovka park and a convention centre Výstaviště. The name Bubenečis masculine,although Czech grammar rules also allow its use as a feminine.
Jan Novák is a Czech-American writer,screenwriter and playwright. He writes in both Czech and English,frequently translating his work. He has received awards in both the United States and the Czech Republic. He has worked closely with such figures as Václav Havel and MilošForman.
STUHA was an alternative,independent student movement in the late phase of the Czechoslovak Communist régime. It was gradually formed by Prague students in the late spring and early summer of 1989. The movement was the catalyst that mobilized the university students,later culminating in the demonstration and march at Albertov,Prague,and then on to the city centre,on 17 November 1989.
Vinohrady Cemetery is a large cemetery in Vinohrady in Prague 10 which contains Strašnice Crematorium. It is the second largest cemetery in Prague and is registered in the state list of cultural monuments. The remains of two Czech presidents are in this cemetery.
Barbora Hrzánová is a Czech actress and musician. She won the Alfréd Radok Award for Best Actress in 1994 for her role in the play The Seagull at the Theatre on the Balustrade in Prague. At the 2003 Thalia Awards,she won Best Actress in a Play for her role in HrdýBudžes at the Antonín Dvořák Theatre in Příbram. She is married to actor Radek Holub,with whom she often performs on stage.
The statue of Ivan Konev was a monument to Russian general Ivan Konev that was erected in Prague in 1980. In the late 2010s,it became a subject of controversy within Czech Republic–Russia relations,resulting in its removal in 2020.
