Jay C. Martin (born October 8,1969) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for the 40th district from 2003 to 2007. In 2005,Martin served as majority leader of the House.
Martin was born in Little Rock,Arkansas in 1969. Martin had a mentally ill father and was raised in North Little Rock. In 1992 he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Four years later,Martin earned Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. [1]
Since 1997,Martin has worked as an attorney at James R. Wallace and Associates. He was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in November 2002 and assumed office in January 2003. He left office in 2007. Martin serves as the president of Wallace,Martin Duke &Russell. [2]
On February 8,2022,Martin announced that he would run for governor of Arkansas in the 2022 Arkansas gubernatorial election. [3] [4] [5] Martin campaigned as a pro-life Democrat.[ citation needed ] He lost a primary to Chris Jones.
Martin and his wife,Dawn,have three children. He is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. [6]
Joe Edward Purcell was an American politician and attorney who served as Acting Governor of Arkansas for six days in 1979. A member of the Democratic Party,he served as the 45th Attorney General of Arkansas from 1967 to 1971 and the 13th Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas from 1975 to 1981.
Central Airlines was a passenger airline in Arkansas,Colorado,Kansas,Missouri,Oklahoma,and Texas from 1949 to 1967. It was founded by Keith Kahle in 1944 to operate charter and fixed base services in Oklahoma,but was not granted an air operator's certificate until 1946 and did not begin scheduled flights until September 15,1949,just before the certificate expired. Central was then headquartered at Meacham Field in Fort Worth,Texas. The airline was eventually acquired by and merged into the original Frontier Airlines which continued and expanded its network.

John Timothy Griffin is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 57th attorney general of Arkansas. He previously served as the 20th lieutenant governor of Arkansas,from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party,he previously was the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas between 2006 and 2007 and U.S. Representative for Arkansas's 2nd congressional district from 2011 to 2015. Griffin defeated Democrat John Burkhalter for lieutenant governor in 2014 and served under Governor Asa Hutchinson. In summer 2020,Griffin announced his candidacy for the 2022 Arkansas gubernatorial election,but withdrew from the race in February 2021 to run for Arkansas Attorney General instead.
