"Jealousy" is a song by the British singer Will Young. It was written by Will Young, Kish Mauve, and Jim Eliot for his fifth studio album Echoes (2011), while production was helmed by Richard X, with Eliot and Pete Hofmann credited as additional producers. The song was released as the album's lead single on 19 August 2011 in the United Kingdom and received widespread acclaim from music critics, eventually winning music website Popjustice's £20 Music Prize in 2012. [1] "Jealousy" gave Young his first UK top-five hit in five years (since "All Time Love" in 2006, which reached number three).

Reception

The Guardian described "Jealousy" as "a stately, radio-friendly slice of polite dance music with a fantastic vocal." [2] Entertainment Focus called the track "simply stunning." [3]

Promotion

The song received its first radio play on BBC Radio 2 on 11 July 2011.

Music video

The video for "Jealousy" was directed by Diamond Dogs and tells the story of impossible love where Young is "lusting for an otherwise engaged man." [4] The majority of the music video is set around a group of circus acrobats and trapeze artists in training. [5] [6]

It was first released onto YouTube on 29 July 2011 featuring an album version edit of the song at a total length of three minutes and eighteen seconds. [7]

After the announcement, Minogue took a hiatus between of two years to recover from her illness.

A television special, A Night With Will Young, aired on ITV on 27 August 2011 to coincide with the release of the album and recognising Young's impending ten-year anniversary in the music industry.

85% Proof is the sixth studio album by English recording artist Will Young. It was released by Island Records on 25 May 2015, in the United Kingdom. It is Young's first album since signing a new recording contract with Island Records in 2012, and his first studio album since Echoes in 2011. Inspired by experiences in the time between 2011 and 2014, 85% Proof is about challenges in Young's life: accepting himself, forgetting sadness, and living happily. The themes of the songs vary; while some are light, others are dark. The album is produced by Jim Eliot, who has worked with Young on his previous album, and Mimi Stilwell of Kish Mauve band, whom Young always works with. The writing process for the album lasted only 10 days, and the first songs were approved by the chief executive of the record company.

The song features lyrics and melody from the song "Share the Love," written by Ivan Matias and Andrea Martin, which was originally released on Martin's Arista Records debut album The Best of Me in 1998 and later re-worked into the track "Loneliness" by German DJ Tomcraft. Due to the inclusion of the sample, Matias and Martin are also credited as songwriters. Released by Island Records as the album's first single on 30 March 2015, it reached number 103 on the UK Singles Chart.

It was written by Young and Kish Mauve members Mima Stilwell and Jim Elliott for his seventh studio album Lexicon (2019), while production was helmed by Richard X.
