Jefferson Health - Northeast also known as Aria-Jefferson Health (formerly called Frankford Health Systems, now part of Jefferson Health) is a healthcare system in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. It consists of three hospitals and a number of outpatient clinics with a total of 855 beds. [2] In July 2016, Aria and Jefferson Health System announced an official merger. [3]

Jefferson Frankford Hospital

The Frankford campus, now known as Jefferson Frankford Hospital, opened on July 4, 1903. [1] The Frankford campus is a general medical and surgical hospital with 115 beds. [4] In the last year with data available, the hospital had 131,188 emergency department visits, and performed 7,686 inpatient and 11,561 outpatient surgeries. [4]

Jefferson Torresdale Hospital

In 1977, the Torresdale campus, now known as Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, opened [1] in northeast Philadelphia. It is a 258-bed hospital, and a Level II trauma center. [5] The Torresdale campus has a 1,300 car parking garage. [6] There are also partner urgent care clinics in the Torresdale area. [7]

Work began in 2013 for a new emergency department and parking garage at the Torresdale campus, at a cost of $37 million. [8] The expansion increased the size of the emergency department to 42 beds. [8] Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. is rated high performing in 2 adult procedures and conditions, according to U.S. News & World Report. [9] It is a general medical and surgical facility. It scored high in patient safety, demonstrating commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes.

Jefferson Bucks Hospital

In 1999, the Aria Health system acquired Delaware Valley Medical Center, which is now called Jefferson Bucks Hospital. It is a 112-bed hospital located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. [10]

Aria Health sought to build a new 229-bed facility in Lower Makefield to replace Bucks County Hospital. Local residents opposed this project, due to concerns about traffic congestion. [11] In 2013, Aria Health proposed news plans for a "health care village," a facility offering multiple health care services, which may have lower impact on the environment and traffic congestion. [12]

Graduate medical education

Jefferson Health Northeast operates a number of osteopathic residency programs accredited by the American Osteopathic Association. Jefferson Health Northeast hosts residency programs in family medicine, [13] internal medicine, [14] emergency medicine, [15] and podiatric surgery, [16] including two combined residency programs: one in internal and emergency medicine [17] and another in family and emergency medicine. [18]

Jefferson Health Northeast also runs a critical care fellowship program. [19]

Western University College of Podiatric Medicine (WesternU-CPM) is a podiatric medical school at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) based in Pomona, California. WesternU-CPM is one of nine podiatric medical schools in the United States, and one of nine colleges at Western University of Health Sciences. The school was founded in 2009 with an inaugural class of 38 students and is fully accredited by the American Podiatric Medical Association's Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME). Westernu-CPM offers a four-year professional degree program leading to the degree Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).

Long Beach Medical Center was a 403-bed teaching and community hospital located in Long Beach, New York. Long Beach Hospital was destroyed as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Hospital leaders are currently lobbying for state funds to rebuild the hospital. Nearby South Nassau Communities Hospital now operates a freestanding emergency department on the site of the former Long Beach Hospital.

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537-bed non-profit teaching hospital located in West Islip, New York. The hospital contains 100 nursing home beds, and operates a Level II trauma center. Reading Hospital Hospital in Pennsylvania, United States

The Reading Hospital is a 738-bed non-profit teaching hospital located in the borough of West Reading, in the US state of Pennsylvania. The hospital was established in 1867 and is a part of Tower Health System. The hospital is a certified stroke center, and the emergency department includes a level I trauma center. The hospital operates several residency training programs for newly graduated physicians, podiatrists (DPM), and pharmacists (PharmD) which are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. HealthShare Exchange (HSX) is a membership-dues-supported nonprofit health information exchange formed in 2009 and incorporated in 2012 by Greater Philadelphia’s hospitals, health systems, and healthcare insurers.[1][2] It links the electronic medical record (EMR) systems of different hospital health systems and other healthcare providers — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care and for care management. HSX services provide recent clinical care information, and alert providers and health plans to care events.[2] Health information exchange makes patient care more informed and coordinated, and reduces unnecessary care and readmissions. HSX serves the greater Delaware Valley region, including southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.[2]

Peter Alan Bell, DO, MBA, FACOEP-dist, FACEP is an American doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO). He has been President of the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA) and National President of The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP), and has represented the osteopathic profession in National Health Policy concerns.

Jefferson Frankford Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in Philadelphia and is a part of Jefferson Health Northeast, a multi-state non-profit health system now a part of Jefferson Health. The hospital serve as a general hospital of Aria-Jefferson Health and has a Level II trauma center. It is the oldest hospital in the Jefferson Health Northeast system. It is also a clinical affiliate of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and provides clinical clerkship education to the medical schools' osteopathic medical students.

Jefferson Torresdale Hospital is a non-profit hospital in the Jefferson Health Northeast system, a multi-state non-profit health system now a part of Jefferson Health. The hospital serve as a general hospital of Aria-Jefferson Health and is a Level II trauma center. The hospital contains a helipad for transport.

Jefferson Bucks Hospital Hospital in Pennsylvania, United States

Jefferson Bucks Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and is a part of Jefferson Health Northeast, a multi-state non-profit health system now a part of Jefferson Health. The hospital serve as a general hospital of Aria-Jefferson Health and has a Level II trauma center. It is the newest addition to the Jefferson Health Northeast system.
