Jesse Kiehl (born April 17,1976) is a Democratic member of the Alaska Legislature representing the State Senate's B district and a former member of the Assembly of the City and Borough of Juneau,Alaska. [1]
Jesse Kiehl was born on April 17,1976,in Anchorage,Alaska,and graduated from Steller Secondary School in 1994. [2] Kiehl attended Whitman College in Walla Walla,Washington and received a bachelor of arts degree in 1998,with both a major in theatre and a major with honors in politics. [3]
From 2000 to 2018,Kiehl worked as staff to Juneau-area members of the Alaska State Senate. Until 2009 he worked for Kim Elton,and began working for Dennis Egan upon his appointment to replace Elton. [4] In 2011,Kiehl ran for local office,beating Bradley Fluetsch by a large margin. [5] He took office in October 2011. Kiehl was unopposed in his 2014 re-election campaign. In 2017 he won a third term in a three-candidate race against Chuck Collins and Loretto Jones,garnering more than 67% of the vote. [6] He served as a member of the Assembly of the City and Borough of Juneau,Alaska [1] until resigning to serve in the state senate in January 2019. [7]
Kiehl also served in a Juneau-specific seat on the board of directors of the Alaska Municipal League. [8] [9]
Kiehl won the State Senate election on November 6,2018,from the platform of Democratic Party. He secured sixty-two percent of the vote while his closest rival Independent Don Etheridge secured thirty-eight percent. [1] [10]

Kim Steven Elton is a journalist,commercial fisherman,government official and Democratic politician in the U.S. state of Alaska. Elton represented Juneau in the Alaska House of Representatives for two terms,from 1995 to 1999. Dennis William Egan was an American politician who was a member of the Alaska Senate representing Juneau from April 19,2009,until January 15,2019. A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served as the mayor of Juneau from February 13,1995,to October 3,2000,and was a member of the local assembly prior to that. Outside of politics,he was known for his work as a radio broadcaster,most notably for KINY,and was inducted to the Alaskan Broadcaster Association's Hall of Fame in 2001.

William A. Thomas Jr. is a businessman,commercial fisherman,and politician from the U.S. state of Alaska. Thomas served as a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives from the 5th District,comprising scattered rural and semi-rural communities throughout Southeast Alaska and stretching westward to Prince William Sound,from 2005 to 2013. The 2022 Alaska Senate elections took place on November 8,2022,with the primary elections being held on August 16,2022. State senators serve four-year terms in the Alaska Senate,with half of the seats normally up for election every two years. However,because most districts were greatly changed in redistricting,elections were held for 19 of the 20 seats;the only exception is District T,represented by Democrat Donny Olson,which was mostly unchanged in redistricting and thus did not have an election. Some senators were elected to serve four-year terms,while others would serve shortened two-year terms.
