Jessica Gagen (born 1996 or 1997) [1] is an English beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss England 2023, Miss United Kingdom 2024, and Miss World Europe 2023. [3] She represented her country at Miss World 2023. Gagen holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Liverpool, and is an advocate for women and girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). She additionally works as a fashion model. [1]

Miss England

Gagen was crowned Miss England in October 2022, and was the first runner up in the previous year. [2] In the autumn of 2023, she visited Las Vegas, Nevada to give a keynote speech at the ASCEND Space Conference; [4] she then visited NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to tour Boeing facilities. Gagen is the first redhead to win Miss England. [2]

Miss World 2023

Gagen represented England and won Miss World 2023, from 18 February 2024 to 9 March 2024 in India. [7] Gagen wore a Mary-Poppins inspired dress for the Miss World opening ceremonies. [8] Gagen's speech about climate change and women in engineering, in the fast-track head-to-head speaking competition, moved her into the top 40. [8] She was later crowned Miss United Kingdom (which is a title given to the highest scorer from the UK at the preceding Miss World competition) and Miss World Europe (which is a title given to the highest scorer from Europe during the Miss World competition).
