Jessica O'Connell (born 10 February 1989 in Calgary) is a Canadian athlete competing primarily in long-distance events. [5] She represented her country at the 2016 World Indoor Championships finishing ninth. [6]
In July 2016 she was officially named to Canada's Olympic team in the 5000 meter event. [7]

Yvonne Carole Grace Murray-Mooney, is a Scottish former middle-distance and long-distance track and road-running athlete. She won a bronze medal in the 3000 metres at the 1988 Olympic Games, and gold medals at this distance at the 1987 European Indoor Championships, the 1993 World Indoor Championships and the 1990 European Championships. She also won a gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Her 3000 metres best of 8:29.02 was set in the Olympic Final of 1988.
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track.
Sentayehu Ejigu Tamerat is an Ethiopian long-distance runner, who specializes in the 3000 and 5000 metres. She represented Ethiopia at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Laura Muir is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist in the 1500 metres, having previously finished seventh in the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Muir won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships, and has three other top five placings in 1500 m finals at the World Athletics Championships, finishing fifth in 2015, fourth in 2017 and fifth in 2019. She is a two-time European 1500 m champion from 2018 and 2022 as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games 1500 m champion and 800 metres bronze medallist.
Susan Krumins is a Dutch middle- and long-distance runner. She was the 5000 metres bronze medalist at the 2014 European Athletics Championships and also won a 3000 metres bronze at the 2014 IAAF Continental Cup.
Erin Teschuk is a Canadian middle- and long-distance runner. She represented her country at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. Natasha Wodak is a Canadian long-distance runner. She competed in the 10,000 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, placing 23rd. Wodak formerly held the Canadian 10,000m record.
Charles Philibert-Thiboutot is a Canadian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500 metres. In his specialty event, he has represented Canada at the 2015, 2022, and 2023 World Championships as well as at the 2016 Olympics, having reached the semi-final on all occasions. He is also the 2023 Pan American Champion over 1500 m, having won a bronze medal in the same event at the 2015 edition.

Leonard Essau Korir is a Kenyan-born American long-distance runner who competes over distances from 5000 meters to the marathon. He is a two-time NCAA champion, winning an indoor 5000 m title and outdoor 10,000 meters title in 2011 for the Iona Gaels. He gained United States citizenship and began competing for his adoptive nation in 2016.
William "Woody" Kincaid is an American long-distance runner. He is a two-time national champion in the 10000 metres, with victories at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2021 and 2023. He has held the North American indoor record in the 5000 metres (12:51.61) since 2023. Kincaid represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Games, the 2022 World Champions, and the 2023 World Championships. He won a gold medal in the 5000 metres at the 2022 NACAC Championships.
Amy-Eloise Neale OLY is a British middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal in the 3000 metres at the 2021 European Indoor Championships.
Alicja Konieczek is a Polish Olympic runner specializing in the 3000 meters steeplechase. In 2020 she joined On Athletics Club sponsored by Swiss company On. She won the gold medal at the 2019 Summer Universiade and the Super League European Team Championships in Chorzow. Tokyo 2020 was her first Olympics, where she ran the second fastest time of her career (9:31.79) and took 20th place. In 2019, she ran 9:44.96 at the IAAF World Championships in Qatar placing 28th.
Elinor Purrier St. Pierre is an American track and field athlete who specializes in middle-distance and long-distance running. She won a gold medal in the 3000 meters at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Purrier also represented the United States at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Jessica Jolliffe is an Australian middle- and long-distance runner. She is or has been the Oceanian record holder for the 1500 metres, mile and 3000 metres, and the Australian record holder for the 5000 metres and indoor 3000 m.
Nadia Battocletti is an Italian female middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal for the 5000 metres at the 2021 European Under-23 Championships. Battocletti earned four individual gold medals in the U20 and U23 age groups at the European Cross Country Championships. She is the Italian record holder for the indoor 3000 metres and 5 km road race.
John Eamon Gay is a Canadian track and field athlete who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He competed in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He did not qualify to compete in the final.
