Jilla is the soundtrack album of the 2014 Tamil film of the same name directed by T. Nesan starring Mohanlal, Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal. The film's soundtrack and background score were composed by D. Imman which marks his first collaboration with Mohanlal and Nesan and his second collaboration with Vijay after the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan . The soundtrack consists of 6 Tracks and 2 Karaoke Tracks whose lyrics were written by Yugabharathi, Vairamuthu and Viveka. Vijay along with Shreya Ghoshal crooned for the song Kandangi Kandangi. [1] The audio rights of the film were purchased by Star Music. [2] The album was released on 21 December 2013 and received positive response from critics as well as audience.

Production

D. Imman was signed as the music director which marks his first collaboration with Mohanlal and Nesan and his second collaboration with Vijay after the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan. The lyrics were written by Yugabharathi, Vairamuthu and Viveka. Vijay along with Shreya Ghoshal crooned for the song Kandangi Kandangi. [3] Introduction song of the film was sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Shankar Mahadevan. [4] The official track list was released on 16 December 2013 along with the one of Ajith's Veeram. [5] On 18 December 2013 Imman unveiled the promo songs of the film [6] and the full album was released on 21 December 2013. [7]

Reception

Behindwoods rated 3.25/5, stating "Imman’s class meets Vijay's mass". [9] Top10 Cinema said "On the whole, Jilla songs are good and they’re sure to top the charts within a short span of time. D Imman has very well used the opportunity and has done a fabulous job. Massive treat for Ilayathalapathy fans". [10] Cinemalead rated 3.5/5 and commented "Sure shot winner". The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh, with a supporting cast including Anu Emmanuel, Samuthirakani, Soori, Bharathiraja, and Natarajan Subramaniam. Viswasam (transl. Allegiance) is the soundtrack album composed by D. Imman for the Indian Tamil-language action drama film of the same name directed by Siva, starring Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara in lead roles and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films. The film was initially announced with Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer, who left the project citing schedule conflicts and several other composers were rumoured to score music before the team approached Imman as the music director. This film marked Imman's first collaboration with Ajith Kumar and Siva.

Mersal is the soundtrack of the 2017 Tamil action film of the same name directed by Atlee, which stars Vijay in a triple role with Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha as the female leads. The film, which marked the 100th production of Thenandal Studio Limited, has a soundtrack album features four tracks composed by A. R. <i>Annaatthe</i> (soundtrack) 2021 film soundtrack by D. Imman

Annaatthe is the soundtrack album composed by D. Imman from the 2021 Tamil film of the same name, starring Rajinikanth and the film was directed by Siva. The film marked Imman's first collaboration with Rajinikanth and second collaboration with Siva after Viswasam (2019). The album featured six songs consisting of varied genres and sung by different singers; lyrics written by Thamarai, Viveka, Yugabharathi, Arun Bharathi, Mani Amuthavan and Arivu. On 2 October 2021, the track "Annaatthe Annaatthe" was released as the first single from the film. This track was sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, who had sung most of the introductory songs of films featuring Rajinikanth; it marked his last film song before his death in September 2020. The track was released posthumously as an heartfelt tribute to the late singer. The singles – "Saara Kaatrae" and "Marudhaani" were released on 6 and 11 October respectively. The audio album released in jukebox format on YouTube on 25 October, and a week later, the songs were released through streaming platforms. It was launched without a promotional event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Kumki is the soundtrack to the 2012 film of the same name directed by Prabhu Solomon, starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon. The ten-song soundtrack consisted of seven musical numbers composed by D. Imman and written by Yugabharathi, and karaoke versions of three songs. Kumki is Imman's second collaboration with Solomon after Lee (2007) and Mynaa (2010).
