"Jimmy Gets High" is a song written and recorded by Canadian artist Daniel Powter. It was released in August 2005 as the third single from his self-titled second album. It followed the single "Free Loop", from the same album. The album sold 500,000 copies, but "Jimmy Gets High" did not fare as well, [1] not charting in the US but charting in Canada. [2] On some sleeve designs of the song, including the UK Promo release, was renamed 'Jimmy' and released on August 21, 2006.

Music video

Powter is shown at a party where people are romantically experimenting with each other, enjoying themselves or completely passed out. The video also contains random shots of guests while Powter appears, from the start, sitting, later he is standing in random areas of the party and also walking around while alone and singing directly to the camera. Although, as the video begins approaching the end, Powter is shown performing on a white grand piano with a drummer backing him up as he entertains the others.

"Free Loop " is a pop song written by Canadian singer Daniel Powter. It was his second single and the follow-up to his successful song, "Bad Day". It did not achieve the success of its predecessor. In the United Kingdom, WEA failed to realize the single was deemed ineligible to chart since "Bad Day" was included as B-side whilst still being in the UK top 40 at the time. In the US, it did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but it did reach the top 30 of the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Under the Radar is the third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter and follows his 2005 self-titled second album. The album was released in September 2008 in Europe and was later released in North America in 2009. The song "Next Plane Home" was released as the first single of the album. It was followed by "Best of Me" and then "Whole World Around". This album also contains a new remix of "Love You Lately" which has a cleaner sound, extra keyboard/synthesizer effects, and some extra backing vocals as well as a re-recording of the song "Negative Fashion" which originally appeared on Powter's debut album "I'm Your Betty". In the UK, the album has debuted at number 43 and included an exclusive bonus track in the form of a live rendition of Bad Day in Vienna.
