The facility is named after businessman and philanthropist Joe Craft, a Hazard, Kentucky native, who pledged $6 million towards the completion of the $30 million project.

Features

The 102,000 ft2 (9,480 m2) structure contains separate practice courts for the men's and women's basketball programs, as well as support spaces for both programs, including coaches' offices. [1] It also includes a ticket office, athletic administration offices, and the renovation of 17,500 ft2 (1,630 m2) of space in Memorial Coliseum to support requirements from the volleyball, gymnastics, and other sports teams. The Joe Craft Center features several state-of-the-art video rooms for game film viewing, separate men's and women's locker rooms, and new coaches' offices. [2]

History

Construction began in August 2005 on the north side of the Coliseum. The $30 million structure was completed on January 11, 2007. [2] As a result, Memorial Coliseum has more ample space for volleyball and gymnastics practice and games.

Alumni Gymnasium, now known as Alumni Gym Fitness Center, is a building on the University of Kentucky (UK) campus in Lexington, Kentucky. It is located on the corner of South Limestone Street and Avenue of Champions next to the University of Kentucky Student Center. When it opened in 1924, replacing Alumni Hall, it was a 2,800 seat multi-purpose arena, serving as home to the UK Wildcats basketball team. It was replaced when the Memorial Coliseum opened in 1950. The building later became a student recreation facility, and was frequently used for recreational and intramural basketball. During this period, it was also home to the University of Kentucky Men's Club Basketball team, University of Kentucky Club Dodgeball team, and the UK Men's Club Volleyball team. The interior of the facility was gutted in 2017 as part of a project to renovate the university's student center, and the building reopened in 2018 as a student fitness center.

Todd Jr. Building, is a five-story building on the University of Kentucky campus on South Limestone adjacent to the Biomedical Biological Science Research Building that was dedicated on January 25, 2010. The building allowed the College of Pharmacy to relocate from its former location along Rose Street. The University of South Florida athletic facilities are the stadiums and arenas the South Florida Bulls use for their home games and training. The University of South Florida currently sponsors 19 varsity athletic teams and has 11 facilities in the designated Athletics District on or adjacent to its Tampa campus, one on its St. Petersburg campus, and one elsewhere in Tampa. 18 of the 19 teams have some sort of facility in the USF Athletics District.
