John Mahon (born 23 January 1955) is a professional percussionist and backing vocalist, most noted for his work with Elton John. He grew up in Canton, Ohio, and was attracted to music when he joined a local drum/bugle club. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1973. [1] He has toured with Elton John since 1997.

The title is "one night only" because the recording equipment failed to tape most of the audio from the first night, leaving only the second night to be recorded as an album. Wonderful Crazy Night is the thirtieth studio album by British singer-songwriter Elton John. It was released on 5 February 2016. It is John's first album since 2006's The Captain & the Kid to feature the Elton John Band, and was written and recorded in 17 days. Farewell Yellow Brick Road is an ongoing tour by British musician Elton John that began in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 8 September 2018. It is intended to be John's final tour and will consist of more than 300 concerts worldwide. By the end of the first leg of the tour on 18 March 2019, it had grossed over $125 million and won a Billboard Music Award in the category Top Rock Tour. The tour's name and its poster are parodies/references to John's 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Revamp: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin and Restoration: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin are two tribute albums to English performer Elton John and his frequent songwriting partner Bernie Taupin. Both released on 6 April 2018, Revamp was described as John's project and features covers of the duo's back catalogue by pop, rock and R&B artists, whereas Restoration was seen as Taupin's project and features covers by country music artists. Revamp was released via Island Records and Restoration by Universal Music Group Nashville. The release of the albums coincided with John's 2018–2020 Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

<i>Rocketman</i> (film) 2019 biographical musical drama film

Rocketman is a 2019 biographical musical drama film based on the life of musician Elton John. Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, it stars Taron Egerton as John, with Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Sheila Eileen. The film follows John in his early days as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his musical partnership with Taupin. The film is titled after John's 1972 song "Rocket Man."
