Jonathan Archie Taumateine (born 28 September 1996) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a scrum-half for Super Rugby club Moana Pasifika. Born in New Zealand, he represents Samoa at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds. [1]

Club career

Taumateine signed with the Moana Pasifika for the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season. [2] His position of choice is scrum-half. [3] [4]

International career

In July 2021, he was named in the Samoa squad for the July internationals. [5] Taumateine made his international debut for Samoa on 10 July in a 42–13 win over Tonga.

The 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season is the 27th season of Super Rugby, an annual rugby union competition organised by SANZAAR between teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga.
