Joselyn Kamateneti ( born April 16, 1982) is a Ugandan accountant and politician, who serves as the woman member of parliament for Ntungamo district in the 11th parliament of Uganda (2021 to 2026). [1] [2]
Joselyn Kamateneti was born on April 16, 1982 in Nyabushenyi village, Nyabushenyi sub-county, Ntungamo district, in the Western region of Uganda to the late Tadeo Kanyankore-Kakiga and Norah Twinomugisha.[ citation needed ]
She attended Nyakisa Primary School for her primary education, Hornby High School in Kabale for her O'level and thereafter moved to Immaculate Heart Nyakibare Girls' Secondary School for A'level.[ citation needed ]
Later she joined Makerere University, Kampala, where she pursued her bachelor's degree in commerce, specialising in finance. [2]
Joselyn Kamateneti worked with Crane Bank Uganda, before joining Bank of Uganda where she was working as an accountant. Before joining politics, she was running a business in Kampala dealing in printery and stationery. [2]
Joselyn Kamateneti is married to Sande Baata-Kaketto who is the former district councillor of Nyabihoko sub-county, Ntungamo district and they have four children. [2]
Janet Kainembabazi Museveni is a Ugandan politician who has been the First Lady of Uganda since 1986. She is married to President Yoweri Museveni, with whom she has four children. She has been Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports in the Ugandan Cabinet, since 6 June 2016, although her own education record is questioned. She previously served as Minister for Karamoja Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Ruhaama County in Ntungamo District, between 2011 and 2016. She published her autobiography, My Life's Journey, in 2011.
Syda Namirembe Bbumba is a Ugandan accountant, politician and banker. She served in the Cabinet of Uganda as Minister of Energy and Minerals from 2002 to 2006, Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development from 2006 to 2008, Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2011, and Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development again from 2011 to 2012. She was also the elected Member of Parliament for Nakaseke County North, Nakaseke District She was the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on National Economy and also Chairperson of the Parliamentary Islamic Banking Forum. She was Sub-Saharan Africa's representative to the OIC Women Advisory Panel.
Mwesigwa Rukutana, is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He served as Deputy Attorney General of Uganda from 1 March 2015 to January 2020. He replaced Fred Ruhindi, who was appointed Attorney General. He was transferred from attorney general chambers to Minister of State for Labour until June 2021 when he was dropped from the cabinet. He was appointed to the post of deputy attorney general on 1 March 2015, Prior to that, between 27 May 2011 and 1 March 2015, he served as the State Minister for Labor in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to this position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Emmanuel Otala, who was dropped from the Cabinet. Prior to that, he served as the State Minister for Higher Education, from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011.
Ronald Kibuule is a Ugandan politician and polygamist, known for his conservative views and controverse. He was the State Minister for Water Resources in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Betty Oyella Bigombe. From 27 May 2011 until 1 March 2015, he served as the State Minister for Youth and Children. In 2021 he lost his Membership of Parliament for Mukono County North after an attempt to use military force to overturn the Electoral Commission decision.
Gerald Majera Ssendaula is a retired Ugandan politician, and current banker and farmer. He is a former Cabinet Minister and MP Member of Parliament, representing Kingo sub-county, which became Lwengo District.
Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School is an all-girl boarding school located in Kampala, Uganda. The school was founded in 1954 by Prince Badru Kakungulu, a Buganda Royal, in 1954, to offer post-primary education to the Muslim girl-child. Today it admits girls of all faiths.
Peace Regis Mutuuzo is a Ugandan politician who serves as the Women representative for Bunyangabu District. She is the Minister of State for Gender and Culture in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. In 2021, she was re elected into the eleventh Uganda Parliament.
Beatrice Rwakimari is a Ugandan public health leader, public administrator, teacher and politician. She was the elected Woman MP for Ntungamo District in Uganda's tenth parliament and was politically affiliated to NRM, the ruling political party in Uganda. She previously served the constituency for two consecutive terms in the 7th and 8th parliaments from 2001 to 2011. In the 10th Parliament, she served as a member of the Appointments Committee, the Committee on Health and the NRM Parliamentary Caucus.
John Bosco Ikojo is a Ugandan accountant, Finance expert and politician. He is the elected Member of Parliament for Bukedea County, Bukedea District, and a representative for NRM, the ruling political party in Uganda. He is a member the NRM Parliamentary Caucus and serves as a member on the Committee on National Economy and the Committee on Natural Resources in the 10th Parliament of Uganda.
Winifred Kiiza is a Ugandan teacher and politician, who served as the Leader of Opposition in the Ugandan Parliament, from May 2016 until August 2018. She was replaced as Leader of Opposition by Betty Aol Ochan.
Lucy Akello is a Ugandan social worker and politician, who served as the member of parliament for the Amuru District Women's Constituency in the 10th Parliament. She was elected back to the eleventh Parliament representing Amuru District under FDC political party. She is a member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), and she serves as the shadow minister for labour, gender and social development.
Hellen Kahunde, also Helen Kahunde, is a Ugandan educator and politician who serves as the Member of Parliament representing the Kiryandongo District Women' Constituency in the 10th Parliament. In 2021 she was re elected into parliament. In the eleventh parliament, she serves on the Committee on East African Community Affairs.
Julianne Rwakakoko Mweheire, but commonly referred to as Julianne Mweheire, is a Ugandan management professional, accountant and corporate executive. She serves as the Director of Content Development and Industry Affairs at the Uganda Communications Commission, effective August 2018. Before that, she worked as a Senior Manager, Carrier Relations and a Senior Accountant, Interconnection and Roaming, at MTN Uganda.
Anita Annet Among is a Ugandan accountant, lawyer and politician who is the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda since 2022. She also concurrently serves as the elected member of parliament for the Bukedea District Women Constituency, the same position she held in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021). She was in FDC party before she joined the ruling NRM where she was voted as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Parliament. She is named in the torture complaint against the Ugandan government that was submitted with the International Criminal Court.
Robinah Nabbanja is a Ugandan educator and politician who serves as the Prime Minister of Uganda, having been nominated to the office on 8 June 2021. She was formally confirmed by the Parliament on 21 June 2021. She replaced Ruhakana Rugunda, who was named to the post of Envoy For Special Duties In The Office Of The President of Uganda. She is the first female prime minister of Uganda.
Christine Nakwang Tubo also known as Christine Tubo Nakwang is a Ugandan politician who is currently the woman representative member of parliament for Kaabong District. Christine was among the National Resistance Movement (NRM) representative in the by- elections of 2021 which happened because Rose Lily Akello the former woman representative of Kaabong District opted to represent the newly created Karenga District that was carved out of Kaabong District. She was nominated over Fadouta Ahmed and Agnes Napio who were also under the NRM ticket. Nakwang was competing with Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)'s candidate Judith Adyaka Nalibe who abandoned the race over allegations of limited support from her party. The need to improve Education and health services in Kaabong District has been listed as the key targets of the newly elected member of parliament Christine Tubo Nakwang.
Teddy Nambooze is a Ugandan accountant and a legislator. She serves as the elected Woman Member of Parliament for Mpigi district in Uganda's 11th parliament. Politically she is affiliated to National Unity Platform (NUP) under whose ticket she contested and won in the 2021 general elections.
Annie Logiel was a female Ugandan politician, a trained nurse, founder of Karamoja Traditional Healers Association, and district woman representative of Moroto in the 10th Parliament of Uganda under the National Resistance Movement political party. She was elected in 2016 and passed on in 2017. She died at the age of 48 at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen in Denmark where she was taken for an operation to remove a tumour on her brain. It was reported by her family that she went through the brain tumour operation but later developed complications leading to her death.
Barbara Kyagulanyi is a Ugandan philanthropist and author. She is the wife to notable Ugandan singer and politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine. She is the author of "Golden Memories of a Village Belle" published in 2012.
Dr. Faith Kunihira Philo, commonly known as Faith Kunihira, is a Female Woman Representative of Kyenjojo district in the Eleventh Parliament of the Republic of Uganda representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
