Joshua Da Silva (born 19 June 1998) is a Trinidadian cricketer. [1] He made his domestic debut in 2018 for Trinidad and Tobago,and his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2020. [2]
Da Silva is of Portuguese descent,with his ancestors hailing from Madeira. Both his mother and paternal grandmother were Portuguese Canadians,while his father is a Trinidadian. [3] He was educated at Saint Mary's College in Port of Spain. [2]
Joshua started playing cricket while attending Saint Mary's College and has also played for QPCC (Queens Park Cricket Club). He made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago in the 2018–19 Regional Four Day Competition on 13 December 2018. [4] In October 2019,he was named in the West Indies Emerging Team for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. [5] He made his List A debut on 7 November 2019,for the West Indies Emerging Team in the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. [6] In January 2020,in the opening round of the 2019–20 West Indies Championship,Da Silva scored his maiden century in first-class cricket,with an unbeaten 113. [7]
In July 2020,he was named in the St Kitts &Nevis Patriots squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). [8] [9] He made his Twenty20 debut on 18 August 2020,for the St Kitts &Nevis Patriots in the 2020 CPL. [10]
In June 2020,Da Silva was named as one of eleven reserve players in the West Indies' Test squad,for their series against England. [11] The Test series was originally scheduled to start in May 2020,but was moved back to July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [12] On the third day of the third Test of the series,Da Silva was used as a substitute wicket-keeper in the match,after Shane Dowrich suffered an on-field injury. [13]
In October 2020,Da Silva was named as one of six reserve players for the West Indies' Test squad for their series against New Zealand. [14] Ahead of the second Test of the series,Da Silva was added to the squad for the match as a replacement for Shane Dowrich, [15] who left the tour for personal reasons. [16] He made his Test debut for the West Indies,against New Zealand,on 11 December 2020. [17] This made him the first Caribbean-born white player to play Test cricket for the West Indies since Geoff Greenidge 50 years prior. [18]
In December 2020,Da Silva was named in the West Indies' One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Bangladesh. [19] He made his ODI debut for the West Indies,against Bangladesh,on 20 January 2021. [20]
In March 2022,Da Silva scored his maiden Test century,at St George's in Grenada,against England. [21]
In October 2022 Da Silva was named in the West Indies Squad for the 2 match test series in Australia scheduled for December 2022. [22] Da Silva started the tour against the PM’s XI in a warm up match with scores of 25 and 52* with the bat and taking 2 catches and a stumping with the gloves. In a match that would eventuate in a draw. [23] In the first test in Perth,Da Silva took 3 catches but struggled with the bat combining for 12 runs off both innings. In a match the West Indies lost. [24]
On 10 May 2023 Da Silva was named captain of the Windies A for their upcoming tour of Bangladesh. [25]
On the 20th of December 2023 Da Silva was named in the West Indies test squad to tour Australia in January 2024. [26] Da Silva scored a century in the tour match against the Cricket Australia XI in an eventual draw. In the first test in Adelaide,Da Silva completed his 100th dismissal in test cricket after catching Cameron Green off Shemar Joseph’s bowling. [27] However he struggled with the bat scoring combining for only 24 runs in his 2 innings. In the second test at Brisbane,Da Silva scored a match-winning 79. He partnered Kavem Hodge for a 149-run 6th wicket partnership which ultimately brought the West Indies to a competitive first innings total. [28] During the course of the match,he also effected 6 wickets,as West Indies defeated Australia by 8 runs. [29]
Andre McIntosh McCarthy is a Jamaican cricketer. He played for the West Indies in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. He plays domestically for Jamaica and the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Shai Diego Hope is a Barbadian cricketer,who plays as a wicketkeeper/batsman for the West Indies cricket team. He is also the current ODI captain of the Windies. In June 2018,he was named the Men's Cricketer of the Year,Test Cricketer of the Year and the ODI Cricketer of the Year at the annual Cricket West Indies' Awards. The following year,he was named the CWI ODI Player of the Year. He is generally regarded as one of the best ODI batsmen in the contemporary cricketing world. Hope has also twice been named,for both 2020 and 2022,in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.
Shane Omari Dowrich is a former Barbadian international cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper. He has featured for the West Indies,Barbados along with CPL teams St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents in his cricketing career. Dowrich is also the current captain of the Barbados' first class side.
Gudakesh Motie is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a left-arm orthodox bowler. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2021.
Justin Pierre Greaves is a Barbadian cricketer who has played for both Barbados and the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in January 2022.

Chemar Keron Holder is a Barbadian cricketer who has played for the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket. A right-arm fast bowler,he made his List A debut for the team in January 2016,against the Leeward Islands in the 2015–16 Regional Super50. Aged only 17 on debut,he opened the bowling with Christopher Powell,taking 1/20 from four overs. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2020,becoming only the fourth member of the Holder family to be selected for the West Indies behind Roland Holder,Vanburn Holder and more recently Jason Holder.
The West Indies cricket team toured Zimbabwe in October and November 2017 to play two Tests matches for the Clive Lloyd Trophy. The teams last played a Test match against each other in March 2013. Ahead of the Test series,the two teams also played a three-day warm-up fixture. The series marked the international comebacks of Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis,after their resignation from their Kolpak deals.
