Journal of the European Mathematical Society is a monthly peer-reviewed mathematical journal. Founded in 1999, the journal publishes articles on all areas of pure and applied mathematics.
Most published articles are original research articles but the journal also publishes survey articles. [1] The journal has been published by Springer until 2003. Since 2004, it is published by the European Mathematical Society. The first editor-in-chief was Jürgen Jost, followed in 2004 by Haïm Brezis.
The journal was founded in order to promote interdisciplinary work within the mathematical community and to preserve unity across pure and applied mathematics. [2]
The journal is abstracted in: [1]
Centaurus. Journal of the European Society for the History of Science is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal covering research on the history of mathematics, science, and technology. It is the official journal of the European Society for the History of Science. The journal was established in 1950. In January 2022, Centaurus was relaunched in open-access format by the ESHS and Brepols as Centaurus. Journal of the European Society for the History of Science. The editor-in-chief is Koen Vermeir.
Mathematical Reviews is a journal published by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) that contains brief synopses, and in some cases evaluations, of many articles in mathematics, statistics, and theoretical computer science. The AMS also publishes an associated online bibliographic database called MathSciNet, which contains an electronic version of Mathematical Reviews and additionally contains citation information for over 3.5 million items as of 2018.
Fundamenta Mathematicae is a peer-reviewed scientific journal of mathematics with a special focus on the foundations of mathematics, concentrating on set theory, mathematical logic, topology and its interactions with algebra, and dynamical systems.
zbMATHOpen, formerly Zentralblatt MATH, is a major reviewing service providing reviews and abstracts for articles in pure and applied mathematics, produced by the Berlin office of FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure GmbH. Editors are the European Mathematical Society, FIZ Karlsruhe, and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences. zbMATH is distributed by Springer Science+Business Media. It uses the Mathematics Subject Classification codes for organising reviews by topic.
MathSciNet is a searchable online bibliographic database created by the American Mathematical Society in 1996. It contains all of the contents of the journal Mathematical Reviews (MR) since 1940 along with an extensive author database, links to other MR entries, citations, full journal entries, and links to original articles. It contains almost 3.6 million items and over 2.3 million links to original articles.
Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal of mathematics published by the American Mathematical Society. As a requirement, all articles must be at most 15 printed pages.
The International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences is a biweekly peer-reviewed mathematics journal. It was established in 1978 by Lokenath Debnath and is published by the Hindawi Publishing Corporation.
Opuscula Mathematica is a mathematical research journal founded in 1937 in Kraków, Poland, by Professor Antoni Hoborski, an outstanding mathematician, the first Rector Magnificus of the Mining Academy, a co-establisher of the Polish Mathematical Society.
The International Journal of Modern Physics is a series of Physics journals published by World Scientific.
Acta Numerica is a mathematics journal publishing research on numerical analysis. It was established in 1992 to publish widely accessible summaries of recent advances in the field. One volume is published each year, consisting of review and survey articles from authors invited by the journal's editorial board.
Advances in Mathematics is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on pure mathematics. It was established in 1961 by Gian-Carlo Rota. The journal publishes 18 issues each year, in three volumes.
SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics is a peer-reviewed mathematics journal published quarterly by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). The journal includes articles on pure and applied discrete mathematics. It was established in 1988, along with the SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, to replace the SIAM Journal on Algebraic and Discrete Methods. The journal is indexed by Mathematical Reviews and Zentralblatt MATH. Its 2009 MCQ was 0.57. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2016 impact factor of 0.755.
Journal of Mathematical Biology is a peer-reviewed, mathematics journal, published by Springer Verlag. Founded in 1974, the journal publishes articles on mathematical biology. In particular, papers published in this journal 'should either provide biological insight as a result of mathematical analysis or identify and open up challenging new types of mathematical problems that derive from biological knowledge'. It is the official journal of the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology. The editors-in-chief are Thomas Hillen, Anna Marciniak-Czochra, and Mark Lewis.
Proceedings - Mathematical Sciences is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that covers current research in mathematics. Papers in pure and applied areas are also published on the basis of the mathematical content. It is published by Springer Science+Business Media on behalf of the Indian Academy of Sciences. The editor-in-chief is Parameswaran Sankaran.
The Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering that part of algebra likely to be of general mathematical interest: algebraic results with immediate applications, and the development of algebraic theories of sufficiently general relevance to allow for future applications.
The Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering all aspects of pure and applied mathematics. The journal was established in 1850 under the title of Annali di scienze matematiche e fisiche, and changed to its current title in 1858: it was the first Italian periodical devoted to mathematics and written in Italian. The founding editors-in-chief were Barnaba Tortolini and Francesco Brioschi. It is currently published by Springer Science+Business Media and the editor-in-chief is Graziano Gentili.
