Career

In 2008, Joydeep started his career with directed television drama serial. Then he directed two more dramas. In 2016, he debuted as a film director with the project of Indo-Bangla joint production thriller drama film Shikari share with Zakir Hossain Simanto featuring Shakib Khan and Srabanti Chatterjee, which became the highest-grossing Bengali film of 2016. Produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies banners and it stars Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan, Srabanti Chatterjee, Rahul Dev and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in pivotal roles and centers around Khan, a disguised professional assassin with mysterious past, tasked with assassinating a top government official. The film also features Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Shupriyo Dutta in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.

Nabab is an Indo-Bangladeshi 2017 action thriller film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies. The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan as an intelligence agent from Bangladesh tasked with a secret operation in West Bengal, India and Subhashree Ganguly as a crime news reporter, Nabab's love interest. And features Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Amit Hasan, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Arindam Saha in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Savvy Gupta and Akassh. The film was released on 26 June 2017 on the occasion of Eid in Bangladesh and released in India on 28 July 2017.

The cast also includes Rajatabha Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Syed Hasan Imam, Atul Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film is produced by OT Ltd Productions The film is a remake of 2015 Telugu movie Subramanyam for Sale. The film is released in India on 20 April 2018. And Released in Bangladesh on 27 April 2018. The film received generally positive reviews from critics. It topped the box office in its opening week.

The film was released on 10 October 2021 coinciding with the Puja holidays. The film premiered on ZEE5 on 22 October 2021, 12 days after the release.
