Israel competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 30 competitors, 25 men and 5 women, took part in 42 events in 10 sports. Israel won its first ever Olympic medals at these Games. The first medallist in Israel's history was Yael Arad, who won silver on July 30 in judo's under-61 kg category for women, and she was followed a day later by another judoka, Oren Smadja, who won bronze in men's under-71 kg category.

Hülya Şenyurt is a Turkish female judoka. She won the women's bronze medal in Judo in the 1992 Summer Olympics. She became Turkey's first female and youngest Olympic medalist.

Almudena Muñoz Martínez is a former judo competitor from Spain who won the gold medal in women's 52 kg division at the 1992 Summer Olympics of Barcelona, Spain. Muñoz also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States.

Albania first participated at the Summer Olympic Games in 1972. They missed the next four games, three of them for political reasons due to the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott, 1984 Summer Olympics boycott and 1988 boycotts, but returned for the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics.
