Alfred Oerter Jr. was an American athlete and a four-time Olympic Champion in the discus throw. He was the first athlete to win a gold medal in the same individual event in four consecutive Olympic Games. Oerter is an inductee of the IAAF Hall of Fame.
Robin John Cousins MBE is a British former competitive figure skater who was BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 1980. He was the 1980 Olympic champion, the 1980 European champion, a three-time World medalist (1978–1980) and four-time British national champion (1977–1980), winning all of these titles during his amateur career. He followed this with a successful career as a professional figure skater and later starred in ice shows as well as producing several of his own. He is able to spin in either direction, both clockwise and anti-clockwise, which is an unusual skill for a figure skater.
Gary Charles Visconti is an American former figure skater. He won the gold medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships twice and captured the bronze medal at the World Figure Skating Championships two times. He currently works as a coach.
Kathryn Joan "Kate" Schmidt is an American former world record holder in the javelin throw. A native of California, graduate of Woodrow Wilson Classical High School, and alumnus of UCLA, she won bronze medals at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics. She qualified for the 1980 Olympics, but did not compete due to the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott. She placed fourth at the 1984 Olympic Trials.
Yael Arad is an Israeli judoka. She was the first Israeli to win an Olympic medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 1992. She is widely recognized as one of Israel's most successful athletes and is credited with bringing judo into the athletic mainstream.
Lawrence Dean "Larry" Young is an American racewalker. He had his best results in the 50 km distance, winning bronze medals at the 1968 and 1972 Olympics and gold medals at the 1967 and 1971 Pan American Games. Young is the only American to ever win a medal in long distance racewalking.
Neil Eckersley is a retired judoka from the United Kingdom, who represented Great Britain at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. There he won a bronze medal in the men's extra-lightweight division (–60 kg), alongside USA's Edward "Ed" Liddie.
The 18th Maccabiah Games, were held in July 2009. According to the organizing committee these were the largest games held yet. These Games were the world's fifth-largest sporting event, behind the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Police and Fire Games, and Universiade. On the 13 July, more than 6,000 Jewish athletes from all over the world joined Team Israel's 3,000 participants at the Ramat Gan Stadium in Tel Aviv District, Israel, for the opening ceremony. American swimmer Jason Lezak was given the honor of lighting the Maccabiah torch at the Opening Ceremony.
Joseph Douglas "Joe" Dube is an American weightlifter, world champion, Olympic Games medalist and strongman competitor. He won a bronze medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics, and set two world records in the clean and press the same year. As of 2024 he is still the last senior male American weightlifter to win the world title in weightlifting, which he achieved in 1969.

Arne Roald Bradstock is an Olympic athlete and an Olympic artist from England who competed in the men's javelin throw event during his career. He twice represented Great Britain at the Summer Olympics: 1984 and 1988. In 1992 he was an alternate for the GB Olympic Team and in 1996 was an alternate for the USA Olympic team. Bradstock competed in the 2000, 2004, 2008 USAT&F Olympic Trials and then, for his 8th and final time at age 50, the 2012 UK Olympic Trials where he came second.

It puts on traveling exhibitions, runs workshops, organizes talks at schools, to show and discuss the connection between sport, art, and the Olympics. AOTO previously operated a museum.
Nancy Lewington is a Canadian sprinter, born in Hamilton, Ontario, who competed in the 1960 Rome Olympics, where she ran in the Women's 100 metres and the Women's 4 × 100 metres relay.
Claire Lecat is a former French judoka, under 66 kg category. She was born on July 6, 1965, in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais, France. She studied in the Sport-Studies Program in Poitiers, then joined INSEP. She was member of the France Women's Judo Team at seventh dan black belt, and competed in the women's middleweight event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
