The winner of the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok. He took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Representing Azerbaijan at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, which won the gold medal.

Judo is an Universiade compulsory event since 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand. Before this, judo was optional sport at 1967, 1985, 1995, 2001 and the 2003 editions.

Wang Chin-Fang is a Taiwanese judoka, who competed for the light middleweight category at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She is a two-time defending champion for her category at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia. She also won two medals each at the Asian Games and at the Asian Judo Championships.

Maksym Korotun is a Ukrainian judoka, who competed for the extra-lightweight category at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He won a silver medal at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, losing out to South Korea's Cho Nam-Suk in the final match.

Khurshid Nabiev is an Uzbekistani judoka, who played for the middleweight category. He won a gold medal for his division at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and silver at the 2008 Asian Judo Championships in Jeju City, South Korea.

Meriem Moussa is an Algerian judoka, who played for the extra-lightweight category.

Kim Sung-Bum is a South Korean judoka, who competed in the men's heavyweight category. He is a two-time Olympian, and four-time medalist at the Asian Judo Championships. He defeated Iran's Mahmoud Miran for the gold medal in the open weight division at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Kim also captured two more medals for the same division at the 2003 Summer Universiade in Jeju City, and at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.

Park Ka-Yeon is a South Korean judoka, who played for the middleweight category. She won two silver medals for her division at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and at the 2008 Asian Judo Championships in Jeju City.

Lee Hsiao-hung is a Taiwanese judoka, who competed in the women's heavyweight category. She picked up a total of thirteen medals in her career, including a silver from the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok and a bronze in the openweight from the 2003 Summer Universiade in Jeju City, South Korea, and represented her nation Chinese Taipei in two editions of the Olympic Games.
