The Wadiyar dynasty,is a late-medieval/early-modern South Indian Hindu royal family of former kings of Mysore from the Urs clan originally based in Mysore city.
Mysore State,colloquially Old Mysore,was a state within the Dominion of India and the subsequent Republic of India from 1947 until 1956. The state was formed by renaming the Kingdom of Mysore,and Bangalore replaced Mysore as the state's capital. When Parliament passed the States Reorganisation Act in 1956,Mysore State was considerably enlarged when it became a linguistically homogeneous Kannada-speaking state within the Republic of India by incorporating territories from Andhra,Bombay,Coorg,Hyderabad,and Madras States,as well as other petty fiefdoms. It was subsequently renamed Karnataka in 1973.
Kempananjammanni Devi (1866–1934) was the Maharani of Mysore and later queen mother and regent of the Kingdom of Mysore.
Siddaramaiah,also referred to by his nickname Siddu,is an Indian politician who is serving as the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2023. He also held that position previously from 2013 to 2018,being only the second person to hold that office for a full five-year term. He belongs to the Indian National Congress and is presently the leader of the Congress Legislative Party. He represented the Varuna Assembly constituency from 2023,previously from 2008 to 2018,Badami Assembly constituency from 2018 to 2023,and from Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency from 2004 to 2007,1994 to 1999 and from 1983 to 1989 in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1996 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2005 while he was a member of the Janata Dal and Janata Dal (Secular). He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly on two occasions from 2019 to 2023 and from 2009 to 2013. Siddaramaiah was a member of various Janata Parivar factions for several years.
Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV(Kannada:ಶ್ರೀನಾಲ್ವಡಿಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜಒಡೆಯರು;4 June 1884 –3 August 1940) was the twenty-fourth Maharaja of Mysore,reigning from 1902 until his death in 1940.
Mysore division,officially Mysuru division,is an administrative division in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of four administrative divisions in Karnataka,the others being Bangalore division,Belagavi division,and Kalaburagi division. Mysore division comprises eight districts of Karnataka,namely,Chamarajanagar,Chikmagalur,Dakshina Kannada,Hassan,Kodagu,Mandya,Mysore and Udupi district. Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar,sometimes simply Jayachamaraja Wadiyar,was the twenty-fifth and last ruling Maharaja of Mysore,reigning from 1940 to 1950,who later served as the governor of Mysore until 1964 and as governor of Madras from 1964 to 1966.
Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar was the heir apparent of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1895 until his death in 1940.

Daly Memorial Hall,built at a cost of INR 24,783,was inaugurated on 25 July 1917 by the Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar (the Yuvaraja of Mysore. The Hall is named after Sir Hugh Daly,who served as the Resident of Mysore State and Chief Commissioner of Coorg.
Bantwal Vaikunta Baliga (1895–1968) was a Konkani lawyer who played an active role in Indian governance and politics. He was actively involved in India’s struggle for freedom and worked several times with Mahatma Gandhi. He was elected as MLA and subsequently became the Law Minister and Speaker of the Mysore State Assembly. His term as Speaker spanned from March 1962 to June 1968. He is remembered for his parliamentary acumen,knowledge of legislative business,and understanding of parliamentary procedure. As the Speaker he was known to be very strict in conducting the House proceedings.
Azeez Sait was an Indian politician who served as the Minister of State for Transport,Tourism,Labour Wakf Department and Industries and Commerce of Karnataka from 1972 to 1984. A prominent minority leader of the Congress Party,he represented the Narasimharaja constituency in the legislative assembly a record six times between 1967 and his death in 2001.
Kalastavadi Puttaswamy was an Indian lawyer,and a senior Indian National Congress politician,who remained a member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly (1952–1977),three times from Mysore,subsequently twice from Chamundeshwari constituency and once from Chamaraja consistency,who also served as Minister of various ministries of Government of Karnataka,including Labour,Public Administration and Health &Housing. He has also remained member of the Constituent Assembly in 1948.

Nanjaiah Mahesh is an Indian politician member of the Bharatiya Janata Party from 5 August 2021. He was Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education of Karnataka in the H. D. Kumaraswamy cabinet,but resigned on 11 October 2018 citing personal reasons. He won the 2018 assembly elections from the Kollegal constituency.
