Karizan-e Sofla (Persian : كريزان سفلي‎, also Romanized as Karīzān-e Soflá; also known as Kalāteh-ye Garīzān, Kalāteh Kārīzān, Kalāteh-ye Kārīzān, Kalāteh-ye Kerīzān, and Kārīzān)^[1] is a village in Shaskuh Rural District, Central District, Zirkuh County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 339, in 70 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Shaskuh Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Zirkuh County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 8,329, in 2,043 families. The rural district has 16 villages.
