Karolina Zofia Laskowska (born 1992) is a British fashion designer. She won the New Designer of the Year award at the 2014 UK Lingerie Awards.

Career

Laskowska started her eponymous fashion brand in 2012 whilst still studying at De Montfort University, due to high demand for her designs. [1] [2] In 2014 she graduated with a BA in Contour Fashion. [1] Her designs were featured in the 2014 London Graduate Fashion Week and have been featured in a number of magazines. [3] [4] [5] In 2016 she founded The Underpinnings Museum, a digital museum dedicated to the history of underwear. [6]

Awards

Laskowska won the New Designer of the Year award at the 2014 UK Lingerie Awards. [7] She also won the Lingerie Edit "Press' Best Brand" award in January 2015. [8] [9]

Nadja Swarovski is an Austrian businesswoman. She is the first female member of the executive board, and leads the global brand strategy and communications of the business, which turned over approximately €3.5 billion in 2017. She also heads up the company's Sustainability strategy and the Swarovski Waterschool community investment program, and is Chairperson of the Swarovski Foundation.

UK Lingerie Awards

The UK Lingerie Awards are held annually in the United Kingdom to present awards to key individuals from the British lingerie industry, including designers and retailers. The awards are organised by the lingerie industry magazine Lingerie Insight.

Kestos is a British lingerie brand founded in London in 1925 by British designer Rosaline Kiln. Kestos' major innovation to the feminine underwear in the 1930s was the development of the two separate cups model. Rosaline Kiln, director of the Kestos Corset Company, started experimenting with a pair of hankies, just like Caresse Crosby back in 1913. Kestos' bra was the first commercially produced brassiere that had two distinct and defined cups and "the Kestos" became a generic trademark bra. Kestos was distributed in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, France as well as some other European countries and was popular through the 1930s, 1940s and into the early 1950s.

Nubian Skin is a lingerie and hosiery brand specializing in ‘nude’ undergarments for women of colour. They are currently based in London. The brand officially launched in October 2014 and offers its garments in four tones: Berry, Cinnamon, Caramel and Café au Lait.

Adetola Kunle-Hassan, known as Ade Hassan, MBE, is a British businesswoman who founded Nubian Skin in 2014.

Marian Pritchard British writer

Marian Elizabeth Pritchard was a late 19th- and early 20th-century British fashion writer and journalist who predominantly wrote under her formal married names Mrs. Eric Pritchard and from 1918, Mrs. C. W. Forester. She is most famous as the author of the 1902 style manual The Cult of Chiffon, and has been described as "one of the first truly outspoken high-profile fashion journalists."
